Back before World of Warcraft died. (Yes, it died, it was officially cancelled sometime shortly before that first expansion pack was released. If you disagree you are a heretic and you are wrong.)

Somewhere around thirty orcs just hanging out in Darnassus.

That taught those uppity purple freaks.

Halo: Infection: Full Game.

Honestly, the most panicky and horribly fun game I have ever played on Halo...it wasn't nice, we were all shitting ourselves.

every time an "anal [insert ability here]" spam starts in the general channel in WoW.

when i boosted my friend Magnus´ paladin in SM cathedral, he got mind-controlled by Whitemane. the same moment, she sleeps me and my friend starts beating on me with his 1h sword. 3 seconds later i blew him up.

when me and 2 steam buddies played 8 campaigns a day in L4D. for an entire week.

everytime i falcon pawnch a car as tank. and it hits of course.

Another amusing instance on COD5 - There was one girl in the group, She had the stereotypical "southern belle" accent - but my god, the shameless flirting i was like, Come on, Its a girl, i see them when i go outside, I dont need to flirt with them, just because she is kicking ass it doesnt mean she wants to flirt.

Annoying, But funny looking back.

Playing custom games on Halo 3, Stealthnaut on Blackout is my favourite. Basically, whoever is the Juggernaut is invisible and faster than everyone else. Everyone spawns with a shotgun and another randomly chosen weapon. The map consists of a lot of overlapping platforms connecting small rooms, centred around an opne platform in the middle, and the open platforms means you can leap from an upper level to a lower level.

We had party chat on, so everyone playing could hear everyone else talking. This meant that when the Juggernaut made a kill, he could hear everyone barking orders to try and hunt him down. Excellent stalking fun.

I've got too many to list in full since I've been playing online for years, but I'll dig up whichever ones I remember.

I had some great games on AOE3. One of my weirdest was a 3v3 game where both sides rushed each other and both sides had to evacuate villagers into the land their soldiers had cleared to rebuild everything. Essentially, we just ended up switching sides and the match continued.

Another good set of games was where I played somebody on my friends list who I thought was a bit of an arse. I think he only played against people he knew he could beat so he could get his score up higher. He had invited me to stacked team games before, so that's why I thought that. Anyway, he went Aztec and I went Iroqouis (sp?). He went for a rush as most Aztec players do, and I had to throw myself into holding out so I could get into the fortress age. When I eventually managed it, it was a great feeling. Seeing my (gun wielding) forest prowlers scatter his (sling and spear wielding) crappy troops was amazing. He resigned soon afterwards.

He challenged me to a second game, and to counter my strategy he went with France, who are a little stronger in the fortress age. So... I tomahawk rushed him perfectly and he resigned again. I guess I paid him back for that loss he inflicted on me with those stacked teams earlier.

On C&C3, one game stands out for me. It was when I was playing with a real life friend who hardly played. We were NOD/GDI vs a Scrin/Scrin team, so I called that we should go for a rush. My side of the rush fails miserably, but my friend's doesn't and he manages to cripple his player. Sadly, since I messed up, I'm in a weak position, and the guy I rushed is in a strong one. I have a small outpost in the middle, and I lock it down with all the anti-air defences I can build, getting ready for a scrin counter-attack. His big planetery assault carriers roll around, and the battle that follows is epic. All those tiny ships flying around and being shot down by hundreds of missiles and bullets is just awesome. Eventually, I manage to shoot down all his little ships, but his crippled team mate comes at me with tons of crappy tanks and... ore collectors. Since the Scrin ones blow up, he uses them as suicide bombers, and the two together force me out my outpost. I fall back to my base, and just when I look doomed, I find out what my team mate has been doing while I've been defending. Building tons of stealth tanks. If seeing all those little ships fall out the air was cool, then seeing all the assault carriers fall out the air is even better! After this, we counter-attack and win. That was a really tough but satisfying game.

Left 4 Dead, we were Infected. We sucked balls and we got a tank, but the guy who got the tank was named Spankey. I couldn't resist:

"Give 'em spankey with your tankey."

I lol'ed so hard (the other guys to). It was such epic win.

Every single time I play a game with one of my cousins we laugh our asses off.
Especially in LittleBigPlanet and Grand Theft Auto IV.

Whitemane? isn't that the undead chick? can't really remember, quit ages ago (+1 self control point) but anyway, once I was boosting some low level guys through SM and when it came to the part where you kill the last boss, then the doors open and the woman comes out and ressurects him?

I unleashed everything I had as soon as she came out, and she actually died BEFORE the scripted part where she rezzes him, so we couldnt collect the loot off him... the wee kids I was with got mad XD

Blood Gulch, standard rules, no vehicles, Halo 1.

To me that was the golden age, maybe it was my domination of it that made it so fun to me. I don't know but it is a time that I will never forget.

Or on the Halo 2 version of Blood Gulch...I always used to get a banshee and a sniper rifle and hide on the wee cliff just to the east of the base. I could snipe loads of people before they worked out how to get to me :)

[edit] wow...ashamed of my spelling there :p

A great one just the other day in CoD:WaW, my team picked up 3 tanks in Seelow (I think that was the map), and we proceeded to completely dominate. The top 3 players all had 0 deaths, I had 25 kills, 2nd place had 23 and 3rd place had 14. Absolutely awesome, especially as (unlike the other 2) I left my tank, and ran around picking off the others fleeing in terror.

Not to hate too much, I guess the tactic is legit, my main enjoyment came from the pride of knowing my tactics were unquestionably legit yet nobody could stand a chance. If I was challenged to fight somebody on their terms you know the typical:

"hey stop using the sniper it's a noob weapon fight me up close"
*kill*
"The pistols a noob weapon"
*machine gun kill vs them using a pistol*
"hacker stop using an aimbot"

That's the pay off, being mistaken for an aim bot when the reality is years of gaming and 30 minutes to an hour every night after university culminating in pure skill. 50 kills, 1-3 deaths and this was your average match, I couldn't even get pulled up on being accused of having no life. Since then have not been able to find that gaming niche where I particularly excel, it was good fun but these days it's rare to find that many good players for it, hmmm maybe I'll boot the game up later tonight and see what I can do.

All those hours I've spend of my old PS2 probably wins. Champions Of Norrath was totaly underrated.

But the TimeSplitters series won it all. TS FP, Ninja Monkeys, Infection. Man, I miss that game.

DAMN YOU MICROSOFT FOR YOU BAD BACKWARDS COMP.!!!!!

On a Next Gen, me and a friend were playing Rocket race, Halo 3 for those who don't know.

Three teams had 9 points each, the map was sandtrap and we just took the last one so we were pretty far away from the new one.

The Cap. Point was in the valley at the "valley". So we come driving and jumps from the cliff, landing on the cap. point just before the other team took it. From the sky we came, and won.
