Raaaaadscorpions!

Arachnids of unusual size in general but I'm narrowing it down to car-sized bastards lumbering out of the radioactive mists every couple minutes. The look, the noise.... I swear on my first playthrough of Fallout 3 I closed my eyes when I fought them.

And of course every fantasy game ever has to use giant spiders and/or scorpions as common enemies.

This is a hard one and I'm probably going to have to say any slime based creature that splits when you hit them into more enemies, these are in countless games such as minecraft and one of the original spyro the dragon games.

Freakin husks from mass effect, they just can't be some slow stupid zombie-like things can they, oh no they could compete with Olympic sprinters as fast as those damn things move.

By far the very object that has infuriated me more than anything in videogame history: spikes. I consider them an enemy because they are always there, watching you. If you make a small sli up then you die, if you get hit by an enemy while around them you die, or in the case of I wanna be The Guy they will bring the fight to you by literally falling from the ceiling and shooting both up and sideways with the intention of killing you.

off the top of my head, the big pink monsters from Prototype... i think theyre called Brutes. im not sure.

they were all over the place in the infected zones, and if you got within like a hundred feet of them, they would chase you to the ends of the friggin earth unless you killed them. just annoying

also, the little popcorn necromorphs from Dead Space that come out of fat necros. when encountering them, the player has only two choices: sacrifice a chunk of your health by allowing them to swarm you and then pressing A/X to shake them off, or sacrifice a chunk of your ammo trying to shoot all the little buggers. if you havent played the game, they are basically like Flood infection forms in Halo, except you have to shoot each of them individually. they dont explode and die together. also, its much harder to hit them than infection forms are.

and the purple crystal dudes from the Super Smash Brothers series. i really hated those guys. if i remember right, you had to fight like 99 of them or something, and they got tougher and tougher as you progressed.

For me, it's any enemy that can repeatedly attack you, stunning you each time, leaving no chance to recover and get out until the AI decides to stop or I die. Those and enemies than can attack you but you can't attack them or anything the makes it close to that.

...Oh yea... Those enemies that have an instant kill attack that there's no way to dogde or even predict and that unbalaced with have insane attack speed, like them cougars from Red Dead Redemption.

The agiles and the spear-guys from Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, they always ruin my execution streaks.
Especially the freaking Agiles, I'd always loved getting the attention of the biggest mob I could but the agiles always freaking stopped me before I could gather a big enough crowd.

Fighting game final bosses probably are the most deserving here, but when it comes to basic mooks, no one pissed me off more than leadhead splicers. The bastards could take more small arms fire than an M1 tank coated in a 3 inch thick titanium shell, yet even with full health and armor upgrades could slice me in half with bullets in less than a second on their own. The enemies in Metro 2033 couldn't absorb anywhere close to that much pain, and I feared them far more than the pushover big daddies.

The first one that comes to mind is Harbinger from Mass Effect 2. I absolutely hated how I would get an enemy to within a millimeter of his life and then Harbinger would take over and BAM - Full health, armor, and shield. So fucking annoying. And later on, when I kill one Harbinger he immediately takes over another. I can safely say I despise harbinger with every ounce of my gamer being.

EDIT: I'm also seeing several people saying Cazadors from Fallout: New Vegas. I can agree with that. Cazadors, and all their offspring. Kill 'em with fire, people. They deserve to die, all of them. No more need be said.
