It's sad because the day before,you have talked to him and he was OK,and he was helping you get money to end your troubles(you're in deep shit by this point in the game),and then this happens.And later in the game,it actually turns out he was a rat,but still,HE WAS AWESOME.

Not only have I just had that realisation that everything I have done has been preceeded by that phrase, which I never realised until that moment, but the fact that you are mercilessly clubbing him to death, and can do nothing to stop yourself whilst he just keeps throwing "A man chooses, a slave OBEYS!" in your face.
