Annoying support characters?
-SWAT4. Your other officers.
There is no, I repeat, NO POSSIBLE WAY you can top these guys.
You stand ANYWHERE near them. You get "You're standing in my spot sir."
They refuse to obey orders when there is any known suspect active, even if he cannot reach or shoot at you (say, through a window. running down some stairs..etc).
That doesn't sound bad? Then consider this: Most missions will take upwards of 20 minutes to complete. If you screw up, be prepared to repeat this process.
Now I love SWAT4, but this one major nuisance is probably the only reason I don't play it as often anymore. It's like having someone poke you in the back of the head every two minutes, and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

Well Sheba was just Ivan with better stats, and the party buffs were, I would argue, indispensable.
Oh, I totally agree.
Here's the story about the whole "Ivan sucking" matter.
In context...
Golden Sun 1: Ivan is a monster all the way up until the very end of the game (when equipment overtakes psyenergy attacks). He's really fast, so his spells will nearly always go first, and he has the deepest reservoir of power points, so he can do this often.
Late game, most of his best classes have access to Impact and High Impact and Ward.
His high speed lets him block nukes with Flash 100% of the time. Kite-Flash is powerful in any circumstance, and Ivan is the best suited to abusing this.
Plus he's a telepath. Which is just fun to dick around with.
Bottom line: Ivan is quite useful in Golden Sun 1 even up to the end.
Golden Sun 2...Sheba's better. In every conceivable way. But that's because of the Felix-Isaac-Mismatch. What is that? Well..look at the main roles every character in the original played..
-Isaac (earth) = Beatstick
-Garret (fire) = Beatstick
-Ivan (wind) = Spell slinger.
-Mia (water) = Healer.
In Golden Sun 2...
-Felix (earth) = Beatstick
-Jenna (fire) = Spell slinger
-Sheba (wind) = Spell slinger
-Piers (water) = Beatstick
The roles (by adept type) changed for half the party. So the other half (the Wind and Earth adepts) didn't. Why? Because Felix is the protagonist, and therefore must be a beatstick.
This leaves a void in the main role roster...that Sheba has to fill. So, Sheba, by default will be taking Ivan's place entirely in the same manner that Felix took Isaac's.
Thus, the Wind adepts become largely worthless since equipment is far more powerful.
However, Felix is always useful because he's the protagonist, and therefore a beatstick.
