4)esther shaw from the mortal engines series
she is just a great charicter
It's HESTER Shaw, and I don't really think she counts as a hero considering she basically steals, kills and betrays her way through the series.
sorry for the spelling mistake i havent read them in a while also even thoght she is really rather evil she has a horrible thing happen to her but she still manges to be a good parent (up until the end of the third book) so when you consider all she went through that make her all the better as an hero because she still loves her kid and tom no matter what.

You have GOT to be kidding me... Mstrswrd, I'm not attacking you, but I sure as hell am attacking your choice. Rahl is one part emo, one part cripple, and three parts dense. I was rather fond of the Sword of Truth series, even if they were more or less the same book printed with eleven different covers, but Rahl is not what made them magical. He just never gets it, simple solutions escape his grasp and quite frankly I was surprised Zed never whooped his ass. ZED on the otherhand was much cooler. PS. Khalan's hawt ;)

I stand by my choice of Deadpool, but Kirby and Mal from Serenity aren't far behind.
I do understand why you say this, as I was often annoyed at him myself, however, it's the final book in the series, the power he attains, and what he does with it (again, in the final book, "Confessor") that really made me choose him (and the fact that he carved a freaking awesome statue). Also, while I understand the Emo and Dense parts, I don't entirely get the cripple part. Meh, to each their own. Also, I totally agree that Deadpool is awesome, though I have never seen Serenity, so I can't comment on that.

Sure he can't physically kick ass, but words can hurt too.
I second that...his sarcasm is very badass
Dude, he exploded someone's kidneys with a tap from his stick. How is that not physically kicking arse!

My favorite badass is Ryu Hayabusa.
No only is he badass, but he has style being a badass.
Also, there's Kratos, who's a personal choice for the simple fact that he can beat people to death with their own arms.

You don't know what you're missing out on.
Yes I do, and I leave it to you.

Anyways.

J. C. fucking Denton. You don't get more badass than a nanoaug who merges with an AI, blows up Area 51 and kills a multi-billionaire.

If I had to pick a movie badass, I'd go with either John McClane for jumping off a 50 story building and shooting himself through the shoulder orMr.Smith (Shoot Em Up) for using carrots as deadly weapons.

Kyuzo from Seven Samurai (I think that's his name, the bad-ass swordsman, in that one part he runs into the fog and then comes back carrying the rifle from the dude he killed)

Well for me this is a pretty hard one for me. Namely, I don't like heroes much.

Does Godzilla count as a hero? He did for a while, and I'm fine with that. Yeah he was a lot more silly back then, but it's all good. I grew up with it, and loved it. Yeah I can't stand too watch it now, but now I have the more dramatic stuff. Frankly he levels cities in every single movie he is in. As for fights, He has only lost one that I am aware of. Frankly one of the greatest inspirations to me. If modern Godzilla does not count as a hero, then I'll still take the old one.
