Most Obscure, Cooky Games

So while I was getting up from my chair after about a 3 hour session of backyard justice in Plants vs. Zombies, my mind began to think about all the games I had played with cooky game concepts like the aforementioned. Not specifically concepts resembling Plants vs. Zombies, but more along the lines of games with stories so farfetched (or maybe altogether non-existent) that they can only be justified by the game's inherent design.

Some of the games that came to my mind were Uniracers and Clayfighter for the SNES, and Blast Corps for the N64.

Uniracers - I still have no idea why I was racing unmanned unicycles. Actually let me rephrase that: I never knew racing unmanned unicycles could be SO much fun.

Clayfighter - Uhh, wut? Bad Mr. Frosty and Ickybod Clay anyone? Oh and Blue Suede Goo, the Elvis impersonator. Where else would characters like these fly? Not to mention, they managed to make a sequel too!

Blast Corps - Saving the world from nuclear winter by being the most badass (maybe also most haphazard...) wrecking crew this side of the Western hemisphere. As the game would kindly remind the player: 'Time to get moving.' Well, if a nuclear bomb is being transported on a runaway train and its path must be cleared it sure as hell is 'TIME TO GET MOVING.'

I didn't think too long about this before I came to post, but these three came up in my mind right away.

So fellow Escapists, any other obscure titles to fit this mold? Curious minds would like to know.

Also, in before Katamari.

There was one on the Playstation that I saw at a friend's place aaaages ago. There was some kind of duck thing that ate baked beans, and I think it was in a claymation style. That looked pretty cool and "cooky" (I think you mean kooky). Does anybody know it?

Yea, "kooky" is what I meant. >_<

This game takes the cake I think.
One of the best games ever made. Demented Teddy is obsessed with that.

OP: I'm sorry, I can't top CBFD.

Although if Psychonauts counts, then that.
I remember CBFD, but never got around to playing it. I guess I have a new mission to bust in tracking down this game...in some way or another.

And yes, Psychonauts is quite kooky.

They made a remake for the Xbox that also works on the 360. It had very good multiplayer, but it bleeped all the swears, unfortunately.
Sigh @ censorship, but thank you for the heads up.

Censorship can be used to good effect. The Swearing Swami from The World's Biggest Ball of Twine Restaurant in the Kooky Extreme Sam n Max Hit The Road is more funny because of the censorship.

As this isn't in the games forum I'm going to list a non computer game game as cooky...

A drinking game called the ring of fire, the premise is simple but the rules change depending on who you play it with. At one time I found myself with a group of 13 or so people half standing up to drink when Sting sang Roxanne and the other half standing and drinking when he sang 'put the red light on' for the duration of the song Roxanne.

Another time someone drew a card and decided that everyone must speak in the 3rd person, if you spoke in the first person you had to drink.

And don't get me started on the waterfall card.

Crazy game.

Pepsi Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

That game was the weirdest form of fun I've had all my life.

Tomba can count since you cause a giant peach to fart on a pig. And then store it in your stomach.

I had completely forgotten Blast Corps, but that is a really fun game, i never thought Clayfighter where any good though.

One of the weirdest games i have is an old snes game called "Kid Klown in Crazy Chase", it is about a clown who has to outrun the fuse to the bomb which the bad guy lights at the start of each level.

Yea, I didn't realize what forum I had made my original post in until it was too late. >_<

On a side note, I have played a semblance of that drinking game you speak of, except when I played it we called it King's Cup. Much lulz were had either way.

This reminded me of the 7up Cool Spot game for the PSX.

Yes, that's the one! I guess this [http://doo.nomoretangerines.com/nevhood/smabout/biosmklm.htm] guy just reminded me of a duck, and i'm pretty sure he was eating baked beans at one point in the game. Anyway, that one looks pretty weird and wonderful.
