I was playing Batman Arkham Asylum yesterday and i got to the point where you fight killer crok (Did i spell that right) and that was such a big disappointed (Like my first sexual encounter.) All it amounted to was swatting him down (as mentioned in zp) so i got to thinking about some over hyped enemies.

#1 Killer Crok (Batman Arkham Asylum) (seriously how do you spell it)
This, this, a million times this. I wanted a God of War style epic showdown, not some boring "sneaking" scene. Rocksteady, I am disappoint.

I have to agree with the majority here. Croc was a big disappointment in Arkham Asylum. I also felt the fight with Bane was a let-down as well. He's supposed to be one of Batman's deadliest foes (he even broke Batman's spine once in the comics!), yet you defeat him by making him run into walls.

I'd have to say Admiral Harkov from Tie Fighter falls under this category as well. An influential Imperial admiral defects to the Rebels with his fleet (including many state-of-the-art Tie Avengers and Assault Gunboats), yet he's captured and executed by Lord Vader after only five missions or so because he got stranded waiting for supplies at a space platform. If he's got a fleet, why not call for reinforcements to get him out of there?

Deathclaws from Fallout 3, it might be a cheap way to play the game but the dart gun made it an easy game of making sure you didn't back into anything bad.
Yeah the dart gun as well as the rail rifle broke the game early on, aswell as later on the Terrible Shotgun, Xulong Assault rifle, & Lincolns repeater made me Jesus with more flexible ethics. But when you learned to use power armor the game might as well have called it quits because anything that posed a threat to me prior to that point was diminished (Along with my sneak skill.)
Maybe you were playing a different game, one where the rail rifle didn't suck.

Yeah I would have to say Killer Croc myself, as well as the Big Daddies in Bioshock. Admittedly, they are tricky the first couple of times but once you get the grenade launcher they go down easy.

Now I know this isn't in a game but the bad guys in the tv movie the langoliers were sooooooooooo unscary it came out funny. The movie was scary, dark, and full of tension, and then we get toward the end and we see the bad guys. And we see this http://cdn.hometheaterforum.com/f/fe/fe973101_htf_imgcache_482.jpeg The bad guys that have been hyped the whole movie are just those stupid raisins with teeth, the biggest let down ever.(though a good one as I was about 7 and I was scared s**tless till I saw the real bad guy and just started laughing)

PS that was about the most scary picture of them I could find so yeah.

Deathclaws and Yaoi Gui (I sense I spelled that wrong :p) in Fallout 3. Everyone treats them like scary shit but I was taking them down with assault rifles on the hardest difficulty at level five. Now, the enemies from the DLC like Trackers just WOULD NOT FUCKING DIE. They were made out of Kevlar or something because my bullets did nothing to those bastards.

Maximilian from Valkyria Chronicles is so pathetically easy its a disappointing last boss for such a great game. All you need to do is blind him with your smoke round to stop him shooting everything that moves before taking out the towers powering his shield with your snipers and Lancers. Then send in Rosie who you should have armed with the most powerful flamethrower you have, have her get up close and use that on him, she will avoid most of the return fire that she may get and just repeat until Maximilian is defeated.

You should be able to beat him in 2 moves, Sylvaria and Jaeger were a much harder challenge.

I say it's a tie between (1) the "vanilla" Behemoths of FFX, (2) the chapter 2-2 boss battle (Popokarimu; the las plagas-infused giant bat/insect creature) of of RE5.

(1) I mean, really...seriously?? All the strategy guides and word-of-mouth saying these were "really BIG bruisers" were generally all hype. By the time you get to the area you first encounter them, your party is more than capable of crushing them in several turns, in spite of their (auto)buffs & crazy physical power. Their "King"-version at the end of the game, on the other hand...

(2) This is probably the most disappointing boss battle of the entire game. Even on the most difficult difficulty setting, this is pretty much just a game of "bait-&-switch" with the boss. The battle would be much more challenging if only 1 character was allowed to fight at a time. For a boss that really didn't have a respectable defense in the first place, and a [a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WeaksauceWeakness"]weaksauce weakness[/a] to bypass it entirely, it makes it almost a [a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FakeUltimateMook?from=Main.LevelFiveOnix"]overbloated glorified mook[/a]...

#3 Last Mission (Saints row 2) The game built on this guy being a complete jack*** the whole game, but all the last mission turned out to be was killing a bunch of dudes and pushing the bad guy out the window, you don't even get to push him out the window it's in a cut scene.
1. SPOILER ALERTS PLEASE... You just ruined that for me :(

2. People claiming Alma was really hard in the Ninja Gaiden. I found that fight, as well as the rest of it rather simple.

I don´t think any FO3 enemy was genuinely hard, the point lookout enemies were just SLOW to kill

General Corossive from Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
They spend the entire game hyping him up as some sort of ultimate killing machine, military giant, but when you do actually have to fight him, all you have to do is shoot him with every gun and every bullet you have until his massive health bar breaks in half

I defeated selvaria by giving a all units defend order, putting a group of shocktroopers near her, making them attack her at the same time. (she usually dodges the attacks but i just turned her away with a lancer placed at her opposite side after every attack)

Dagon from Oblivion was kinda lame. Just a horde of bad guys and his tall arse. You don't even fight him. You just escort Martin into the temple and watch a cutscene.
I honestly thought Mannimarco was the biggest letdown in this game, not Dagon, since Manni gets hyped more. Though, to be honest, I think most 'let down' boss fights are just a testament to how well the creators were able to characterize the power of a villain.

That said, I also thought both Sarren fights in ME1 were a bit of a letdown. And no, this isn't a spoiler, you clash the whole game, following the first mission, with him. It's no surprise you fight him.

Salazar in Resident evil 4 I really wanted to fight him in his tiny human form and see how far a shotgun blast would make him fly but alas he just turns into a giant plant monster.
underhyped would be Demyx in Kingdom Hearts 2. all throughout the game his is considered a joke but then when you fight him he rains attacks from above you flies around the arena and causes giant area attacks if you get him in a corner. it took me about 45 minutes to beat him since i kept dieing the first time I fought him.
