Oh and while I'm at it, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" sucked. The black knight scene was funny, but the rest of the movie is crap. So, you know, suck on that.
I liked that movie, but I can see how it is overrated.

2001 A space odyssey bored me to tears. I can appreciate it as a technical accomplishment with some great music, but I have no incentive to ever watch it again certainly.
This, this, this. I had to watch it for a media class, it felt like I'd been there for six hours just watching the intro section with the chimp panorama.
Exactly that...

Also i was disappointed when i finally saw Kubrick's Version of Shining...the Book is just so much better.

But oh well, there is still Dr. Strangelove to appreciate
2001 A space odyssey was slow and didn't make much sense. That said I still like Hal...

I might get shot over this, but the Godfather and it's subsequent sequels. I was in high school, and all the faux "movie buffs" were always like, "you haven't seen it? It's the best movie ever." "It's like the perfect movie!" To that I refer you to my middle finger.

HERETIC!! (just kidding)

Seriously though, in my opinion the godfather is one of the best films ever and the holy grail is just hilarious.

Four letters:

LOTR

Now the roto-scoped LOTR animation movie from the 70s? Classic!

Quarantine and Cloverfield.. great idea with the camera's.. but after a while it seriously gives me a headache :( and the lighting in Quarantine was shocking.. i understand they wanted it like that.. but what's the point of a movie when you can barely see what's happening.
The Blair Witch project did a great job with the camera idea. Its quiet great, but I liked Cloverfield to, its not genius, but it kept me entertained seeing that girl blow up behind a screen, or whatever it was. Havnt seen Quarantine though.

Personally I think to many movies are overrated to pick just one.

The Dark Knight, particularly regarding Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. It was by no means a bad movie. It was actually pretty good; just nowhere near as good as Batman begins and hardly the amazing film that people were making it out to be.
Right i agree with the first part of your post that saying dark knight was overrated, but the rest is just unbelievable, how can anyone like the new Batman movies they are so depressingly bad, that through both begins and dark knight i fell asleep bout 25 minutes in. that is a bit made up for the begins movie but for dark knight i actually did i thought it would grasp my attention and keep me awake as i was tired already, but i just fell asleep and i tried watching again but just had to leave my mates to it. :)

I agree with SCAMola, That holy grail is amazing but then i agree with Dwightsteel that godfather movies are bad, i just couldnt understand what the hell they were talking about, they were slow and i wasnt going to sit there for however many hours they are on for just to see some fat guy mumble to his friends about how he doesnt have respect or own a part of the city.

The thing of it is, I've never really enjoyed Holy Grail, but I've been made to sit through it dozens of times, because I was a Drama/Debate kid in high school, and that movie is essentially DDF porn. Everytime I watched it, I hated it a little more each time. If I had only watched it once I would have been like "yeah, I got a chuckle." Now I want to vanquish it. If I were to ever be the arch-nemesis of anything, it would be to that movie. I am the supervillain to Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Casino Royale

Just... so boring.. I've seen all the James Bond movies, and this is the only one that bored me, to the point where I fell asleep..
Thankfully, Quantum of Solace saved Craig as a Bond in my eyes, as well as the movies in general.

I can see how you might have been bored with Casino Royale, and in no way am I bashing your taste for Quantum. But I don't get it. Quantum of Solace felt more like the 4th Bourne movie then a Bond flick. Thats just me. That, and the title felt like the one attempt that movie made to be intellectual. As if to give a title maybe half of the crowd would understand gave it an excuse to forgo a story.

Quantum was far more brutal than most Bond movies, and I agree it didn't feel completely like one xD
It was just that I felt Casino Royale was all poker-playing.. the parts where I fell asleep..
However, this is subjective as I am completely and utterly uninterested in cards, nor do I know how you play Poker, so yeah.. that is kinda why xD

Actually that was Batman begins not TDK.
I think Arsen was saying Begins is greater than TDK.

I'm going to agree with those who said Dark Knight. Also, Gladiator. Don't get me wrong, both were very good movies, but no where near as good as many people make them out to be.

I also vote for the Dark Knight. It was a mediocre fun film, but it wasn't memorable or particularly good. Vastly over-rated.

You say it's overrated, fine! However, keep depressingly bad opinions to yourself. It was a very entertaining movie but I wouldn't put it anywhere near the greatest movie category.

In my opinion, the Spirited Away movie I found to be overrated since all it did for me is just put me off japanese food!

To each his own. And no doubt QoS didn't slack on the action. As I've said before, I rate action movies differently then I do other flicks. I give them more leeway plot wise, because you don't go in for compelling drama, otherwise you'd be watching....well a drama movie. I have a scale

rated on from "Bourne Identity" on the low end to Schwartznegger in Commando on the high end.

Matrix. Sorry if I don't get excited about the main character being able to stop bullets.

Come on man. As Simon Pegg pointed out, it's now almost trendy to dislike the Matrix. While your at it, lets talk about how bad Episode I and JarJar are.
