Halo 3 in my opinion, it's a good game but it really didn't warrant a huge advertising campaign, launch parties and the live-action virals.

On that note despite how much I love the Resident Evil series, RE5 suffered from this as well and was definitely overhyped, plus pretty much every trailer out there spoiled all the the games cutscenes which was a shame.

Star Wars: Clone Commandos. I thought it looked really good and most of what I had heard about it was good so I bought. It's an absolute mess, the game cocks up any sense of excitement or tension, you get given the weakest primary weapon ever but that's balanced by the most over powered heal/ressurect ability in any game.

The World Ends With You. Irritating spiky haired protagonists, some cliche plot involving amnesia, shiny happy J-Pop... it was my own personal hell.
Your avatar is Charlie Brooker. Therefore I agree with you.

ANY SPORTS GAME EVER MADE... except Quidditch World Cup. That one was interesting.
You liked that? It could have been interestng, if they had actually let you fly up or down, or let you move faster than what can only be described as a trundle. Then there's the fact that you're just playing the same game over and over, which wouldn't be a problem if there was any difference between the difficulty of the teams. It's not even obvious how many more games you have to play. This was made worse by the same commentators, over and over, spouting the same lines. I know this isn't exactly a unique problem but the game took it to a whole new level.

In fact, I'm going to choose that as an overrated game, as the adverts gave the impression that the game might actually be exciting.

PS. Don't mind me, I just haven't had the chance for a good rant in a while.

What I meant was that it was interesting. For one, it's not a sport you can actually play. Mind you, I only played it for about two or three sittings, but I like to keep it for a quick play through every couple of months when I'm bored of WoW, which is often.
Yeah, I'd agree that the best idea for sport games is for something that you can't play in real life. I just thought it was poorly executed because it lacked any really exciting elements of gameplay, although chasing the Snitch was pretty cool. Oh yeah, and the insane over-the-top team special moves, which makes you wonder where the referee was.

Sorry for being crazy all over this nice thread.
