Most Playthroughs

Unsurprisingly given my avatar mine would probably be System Shock 2, I've lost count of the number of playthroughs. Fantastic. Another contender is bizarrely probably UFO: Afterlight, played it through 5 times. There's just something about terraforming Mars that plugs into my geek brain and fills me with joy watching the Noctis Labrynthus slowly filling with water. Sad. I know.

Shining Force II. Got that game down to a science. A true classic, cept for some reason after all these years the music puts me to sleep. *Shrug*

i replay the at least once a year and still have never made a pure Rambo run, it just doesn't have the appeal.

Eternal Darkness on the gamecube. Not only did you get a slightly different ending if you did all three runs, but each playthrough had slightly different enemy varieties. That, and the game was just a ton of fun to play and had a great storyline that I enjoyed watching over again. It was an absolute classic of its generation.

Deus Ex would be hovering at about 7-8 total play-throughs these days, with another play-through due before Human Revolution comes out. It would be higher but I try to keep it fresh by only playing it about once per year (slightly less).

Also, I didn't really do it in order all the time, but combinining all my goes through each level, I probably played through the Goldeneye campaign at least a dozen times.

Fallout 3 I played that game at least 20 times and I still don't have all the achievements. Actually I think I will go boot it up right now.....

Diablo 2 - at least 30 times - so many different character builds to experiment with given the random allotment of items I'd have gained over the years. Aside from Rock Band as a series, this game has eaten the most of my gaming hours over the years.

Resident Evil 4 - 10 or so times - because like a great action flick, it's worth revisiting every year or so.

Final Fantasy 6 - close to 10 times - The music draws me back. I get the instrumental pieces stuck in my head at random times and it leads me back to playing the best FF game ever made.

Metal Gear Solid 4, played through about 9 times just to unlock stuff, 2nd place would probably be portal but its more broken up as in ill do a part of it when iv got half a hour to kill.

It would probably be the Mass Effect series- around 8-9 times, I want to be ready when Mass Effect 3 is released!

Earlier time, it would have to be Super Mario 64, but once I finally had a play-through where I 100% the game, I never re-started it again. Right now I feel like pulling out my N64 and doing a speed run on one of my favorite courses!

oh hell resident evil 4 probably 40 times, yeah im addicted to that and when the HD remake comes out on xbox live that will soak up more times, will be fun because i forgot where everything is

usually i just play the story once and then roleplay my way through the geme with my own stories that i make up for that particular playthrough. its quite fun and works great with a silent protagonist.

Mass Effect 2 and Fallout New Vegas gave me many playthroughs, but my most played would probably be Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead, So frikking good... I love Crysis Warhead, For me that game is a solid 10.

what game have you played from beginning to end the most? how many and why?

for me, its probly dragon age origins or maybe mass effect 2. so many choices and so many possiblities. i lost count.

Fallout: New Vegas. I think I've done about 4, maybe 5 playthroughs, a couple of them unfinished, though. I remember getting one Dr House ending, an NCR one, and the third one I'm not sure of. I'm pretty sure it's not the Caesar's Legion one, because on every playthrough I remember doing I personally went and blew Caesar's brains off, because he's an ass and I don't like him. Plus, his unique ballistic fist looks nice. And his suit was pretty valuable, too... hehehe.
I barely feel I even scraped the world of the game, even though I clocked over 220 hours in it according to what Steam says. Guess this number will greatly increase thanks to the DLC. HA!

techincally left for dead 2. most of the Halo series I've done a few times.

Recently I've been playing alot of Medieval 2 but it's totally unbalanced cos everyone gangs up on you and never accepts ceasefires

I did warhammer online alot of times, also Planetside is fun.

Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. I lost count after 20 runs, and I've still not finished one particular class (Jedi Watchman) but got most of the way through it. Second place would be Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, probably around 15 times. Third would be the first Mercenaries game, with ten runs.

Gotcha Force.

You have to complete it 12 times just to have a chance to unlock all the playable borgs, and even then there are so many shiny and special ones to find. IMO more addictive than Pokemon.
