Learning about history; we never learn from it.

if you are learning about history, how can you not learn from it?

Because we read it, but we don't -read- it? There's taking an English class in which to learn, well.. English, but typically it seems most people come out retaining very little of what they just heard, so nothing was really accomplished or understood.

I think it's called american standard ( I'm sort of pro-metric, mostly because it is easier)

I mean the human race; the lessons of the past never seem to stick.

I beg to differ. I won't say we're in an optimal position now but there's no argueing in that we're more advanced psychologically, artistically and scientifically. And regardless of your view on life, those are the three aspects that matter most. Unless you're an agnostic, but if you are, I couldn't care less.
