I'm going with either Kratos or Gordon Freeman. Freeman doesn't have the powers, obviously, but he does have a pretty strong track record for getting it done in the clutch. Kratos has limitations on the magic, but he usually fixes this by stabbing things until they die.

I think Alex Mercer easily takes the cake on this one. I mean appart from being able to turn parts of his body into rediculously overpowered weapons and being able to disguise himself as anyone he's killed, he is also very resistant to damage and as icing on the cake can regenerate from being caught in the centre of a nuclear explosion.

I just don't see this guy dieing to anything really.

Indeed. If Dante didn't have his demonic powers or fantastic fighting abilities, he'd still be one of the more powerful characters in gaming through his sheer force of chutzpah.
