CoD MW 2 online. It's fun for a while but when your friends play it for 8 hours at a time it gets old.

Call of Duty 3.

From what my memory tells me there was some "heroic and suicidal" stand-off in every level where you and 5 of your shitty good-for-nothing AI team mates took on an entire division of the German army so one plane or a tank (or both if the level wanted to appear to be 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 on trying to be epic) can arrive and blow up something so everyone else will run away.

My rant was a bit long winded but yeah I did find it repetitive.

Most shooters seem highly repetitive to me. I might play one every now and again, but I watch my wife or son spend hundreds of hours on them, and I am astounded how they can do it. Choose beween 6-15 different weapons, kill one guy, use cover to hide from another, die, respawn, wash rinse repeat.
(bonus points goes to Transformers: War for cybertron's campaign mode for it taking repetition to a whole new level)

Rhythm games, but you couldnt have a game like that exist without repetition.

Most final fantasy games. If youve seen one recolored slime NPC youve seen them all.

Pretty much any RPG or RTS. RPGs because so many of them require grinding to finish. Grinding is the essence the feeds the repetitive beastie.

And RTS games because the beginning is always the same, collect gold/wood/materials, build houses and armies, collect more gold/wood/materials build more houses and armies.

Grand Theft Auto, the entire franchise.

All you essentially do is drive to location A. Talk with someone, and they'll give you a mission. Drive to location B. Put a few bullet holes in people or vehicles. Escape. Repeat.

Ok, so there's a bit of variation within the missions, but essentially you drive from point A to point B and then something happens, and then you drive/run away.

The only thing that saves GTA from being a big repetitive mess is Rockstars ability to tell brilliant stories and have very well written dialouge and characters.
