Most Screwed up story-line in ANY game series

Killer7. Just... yeah.
Any storyline when it involves explosive invisible terrorists, the chief antagonist and your Professor X equivalent playing chess together, heavy conflict between the USA and Japan, your controlled characters consisting of 7 people that you swap between at video cameras and televisions, a messianic figure whose brain trails behind him and rains his blood from the sky, and a gigantic, worldshaking, conspiracy being executed at a high school...
Yeah. And I haven't even touched the symbolism, and only referenced really one of the spoilers...

I'd say Silent Hill 4. I love how twisted it gets once you understand everything.

A good plot line that was just twisted and mind boggled insane was the one for Tales of Symphonia. I found myself wondering exactly who Lloyd could f trust. It was good, though.

A messed up plot line? When it comes to the timeline, Resident Evil. I actually took the time to order the games I own and have played in order of actual occurence. I love how Code Veronica X just worms its way in there.

When it comes to sheer mindfuckery and imbalance between gameplay and story, it would have to be Metal Gear Solid. It was terribly done. When I have to suffer through a two hour cutscene only to find out that an entire chapter was bloody cinematic, I get angry. VERY angry.
