Most surprisingly good game

To my biggest surprise, it was Final Fight: Streetwise.

I got it on impulse, played it through, loved it, read reviews, and saw that it done horribly.

Yet it was so good.

Expected a generic hack and slash, ended up with a generic hack and slash that is FUN AS HELL.

Final Fantasy XII. Everyone goes on about how it's not like the other Final Fantasys which is the precise reason why it's so good. Gone with the arbitrary, idealistic love story with a clear main character sided with pointless, no strategy battle sequences; in with a political driven plot with enjoyable, meaningful fights.

also, kessen 2. bought it as part of a deal so i could get some other game i wanted, but played it and that game was the business.
