Most Tedious Boss Battle?

I was looking around The Escapist, and noticed there wasn't a thread based on boss battles where they just seem unnecessary, where the game developers just threw in a boss. What are you're most tedious, worthless, boring and perhaps even generic boss battles you have encountered?

Mine would be either:

Halo 2 - The Heretic Leader is just an Elite with a little bit more health (not exactly original...)
Dead Rising - The Convicts in the Humvee (Nice, but became tedious after a while. Also the music is infuriatingly loopy.)
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Vamp (Hey, it's Vamp!....Oh, look whos back...Oh hey, guess who?)
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Solidus (The game could easily have ended before he tells Raiden that -
he killed his parents. Just seemed kinda unnecessary. An "Oh, by the way..." job...
- Oh well...)

The above games I do really enjoy, it's just a shame that certain bosses don't really live up to some expectations.

What are your boring, generic, tedious or unnecessary bosses?

Hmmm...apart from Revolver Ocelot, Cyborg Ninja and Metal Gear, all bosses from MGS are quite unnecessary.

Also..I vote Liquid Snake for the boss that comes back from the dead nore often in one game.

Oh the Everet boss from FF8 on the communication tower. Its soooo long and tedious...Then again most bosses from FF8 are...

The end boss from Gun. Just so... Inconsistent with the rest of the game. They've been fairly realistic up until that point, and suddenly the final boss has a magical breastplate that protects him from bullets until you've made him stand on a geyser when it goes off? What!?

It took me AGES to work it out. I thought I was meant to shoot him like everything else...

Any and all RPG bosses where you find his weakness and simply use it against him while healing. I hate those boss battles where I'm not really doing anything, just making his numbers go down faster than mine.

Fable
I don't know why I just spoiled this one because if you haven't beat it yet then your life sucks...but anyway why does the guy at the end need a shield I mean come on it just wastes my time and prevents the inevitable me killing him.

Portal
I always thought the final boss battle of portal was tedious but even more I think it should have been changed to a puzzle where you must go through the final maze to reach the off button or something.

Crackdown
In any boss battle if you die you must start from the agency that always sucked especially at lvl 1

Actually, Crackdown's boss battles were pretty tedious, just shooting them till they die, in a nutshell. Once again, just a little bit like stronger enemies. With shields and lives.

All the bosses from the Star wars 3rd prequel tie in.
they literally were 'Block, attack, dodge super move' over and over and over again.
Plus they lasted about 40 mins.
My folks went out to get pizza while i was half way through and when they got back i was still hammering away at the same guy. I missed out on food cause of that boss.

My latest ordeal has to be that god damn Magi Master at the top of fanatics tower in FF6. He takes forever to kill or is impossible to win if you don't know the two key components to beating him. First you gotta cast berserk on him so he will stop spamming magic and changing his barrier, if that wasn't obvious enough (which it's NOT) then you can actually move on to TRYING to kill him. If you kill him he will give you the finger and cast ultima on your party which is instadeath, GOD DAMMIT!!

So you gotta keep spamming magic damaging spells to reduce his MP to nothing in order to kill him while keeping your guys alive. Oh it's easy spamming rasp and osmose, the problem is he has like 50,000 MP!! it took me two hours of straight spamming of those two spells to completely destroy his magic so he wont ultima your ass. Thankfully once hes out of MP he instantly dies, but if didn't know that he's freaking impossible.

I loved that about him though, one of my favorite boss characters.

I was kinda disappointed that he didn't really come back in the sequels - Cam Clarke FTW!

Legend of Zelda games... you just wait for the game to tell you where to attack and what with... "Oh hey I just got bombs... I wonder why? Oh, here is a boss that looks particularly weak to BOMBS" Oh and the fight with the german dude on Bionic Commando... "Woah, he looks intimidating... ahh, what do I do? Oh wait I jump for this one and I dodge for this one and when he misses I just grapple him and then kick him and repeat until he is dead", although the cutscene after is actually quite good.

I agree with Fable no doubt. Hide behind rock. Come out. Magic/Arrow the *****. Rinse repeat. Fun game though.

I really thought that after the credits, Liquid would get up after the FoxDie thing and have an evil british laughter and say "I'll get you next time Snake!!!"

Virtually every side scrolling shooter bose. They have so many hitpoints, you're likely to loose attention and die. They're so much more difficult than the rest of the level that it feels like you're killing time until you fight them.

In both versions of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories you have to fight that stupid Riku Replica about sixty bazillion times. You'd think by the third battle or so he'd figure out he's just not going to win. EVER. Then he shows up another thirty or forty times to get his ass kicked some more.

Also, freakin Yiazmat from Final Fantasy XII, what developer thought giving a monster over 50 million hitpoints was a good idea?? It's long, tedious, and given the control scheme for the entire game, you spend half that time watching your characters run themselves around the screen, but you can't trust them enough to walk away and grab a Pepsi 'cause the moment your back is turned that's when they'll decide to go and botch everything up. (At least Yiazmat is an optional boss though.)

Fallout 3. I know the guy in the white jacket wasn't a "boss" but he is the last guy you can kill before the end and he goes down with like three hits.
