Which fictional world that at first blush would look awesome to live in, but after deeper thought scares the ever loving crap out of you? Bearing in mind you're not going to be a main character, or even a hero, rather you're going to be you.

I think the marvel universe would be the worst personally, especially if you lived in New York, imagine an average day were you run the risk of being eaten alien, being fried alive, being blown up by mutant terrorists...

Try to live an hour and a half in the Capital Wastes with all of those respawning Super Mutant Masters! Nah I mean seriously, try it.

*Waits an hour and a half*

Was pretty difficult wasn't it? That is why you stay in Megaton.

I'd hate to be a supporter of the death penalty in the DC universe.

Every other week, the same person murders a few dozen people, very nearly destroys the world, and gets captured by "heroes" who refuse to kill them to stop it all, only for them to escape overnight to do it again.

You'd go mad.

Actually, would worse being an adherent of any mainstream religion, given that gods from other beliefs appear on TV every so often.

wow would probably be hell... between the zombies that hang people from meat hooks, bipedal cows, large green things, things with tusks, green midgets, werewolfs, gnomes and various other things, id probably lock myself away after a little while

Dune, regardless whether it's pre Leto II or post Leto II, though I think the God Emperor would be scary as shit.

I would go with the DC universe too. Imagine living in Gotham where every day there is some nut bombing something and the only thing between you and death is a billionaire with a bat fetish and deep emotional problems.

...Or in Metropolis where aliens constantly go after Superman.

I would never buy a car for fear that it would turn into an improvised weapon for some hero or another.

Oceania (if I'm spelling it right) of 1984

Now THAT is a terrifying fictional world

This.

It's pretty hard to top a universe where thousands (men, women and children) are used as psychic sacrifices every day to sustain what is essentially an inanimate corpse on a sacred life support machine and where the extermination of all life on a given planet, innocent or otherwise, is actually justified in context.

The Minecraft universe.
Living in perpetual loneliness as the only human in the world constantly hiding from the horrors of the night waiting for the sun to rise and when you finally die you are brought back to life to experience it all over again.

Oceania would be quite terrifying to live in as it is quite believable.

In the grim darkness of the 41st millenium, there is only WAR.

Also, demons, witches, inquisitors, poverty and unimaginable suffering.

Mine would have been Warhammer...but if you get to adulthood in one piece, you're pretty damn badass already.

I think Marvel's New York would be fun.

Each day you and your bud could trade stories on who you saw.

"Hey bro, swear I saw Venom fighting Daredevil today."

"Ah, that's nothing bruh, I saw Richard Reed ***** slap the Kingpin out of the Crysler building foyer, he went flying lolz".

"Both of you lose, I saw Black Cat getting roughed up by some thugs and she had a wardrobe malfunction before knocking htem all out, total nip slip!"

etc

I think Gotham would be a very depressing place to live in (if that counts as a "world").

Or even better, MEGA CITY ONE!!! Total chaos :D

Yes and no...untold masses of people die in horrible ways, but the number is tiny compared to the overall number of humans around.

It'd be nasty to be on Armageddon during the Second War (Ghazghkull's first invasion), worse during the Third (Ghazghkull's second) and worst during the First (Angron's). But there were 300 ish years between the first and the second war, and Armageddon had been inhabited for thousands of years before its first war. You've more chance of being a hive worker during a peaceful time...conditions wouldn't be nice, be liekly no worse than a factory worker IRL a century or two ago.
