So Ive played quite a few horror games, survival horror games, just-generally-creepy games, etc, and I found my self wondering which one I considered to be the scariest. I considered Dead Space for a while, but I actually came to an odd decision:

The Dunwich building in Fallout 3. Those of you who went looking for the bobbleheads will remember it as the haunted office building, where you experience hallucinations, flashbacks, find the bodies and logs of wastelanders who try to find shelters there, the diaries of Jaime as he becomes a ghoul, the automatically slammign doors and floating objects, and of course, the giant demonic obelisk in the undershambers with hordes of ghoul worshippers. After the Blackhall quest was added, it got even creepier...

Considering all Ive played, I didnt really expect this one to top the rest, but its one of the few that Ive actually stopped playing because it got to me like that... So tell me forum, what game, or what part in what game, has terrified you the most?

Metro 2033. Specifically, the playground and defense scenes. If you've played it, you know what I mean, if not...you'll build a mansion with all the brick's you'll shit.

Its not from the Pitt, that ones Lookout Point. Cuz it was the ferryman guy, right? But yeah, I totally forgot about that... Those hallucinations were crazy as fuck.

I was playing in ZF_Dustbowl with a couple (around 2) of strangers, Now ZF_Dustbowl is incredibaly dark, where you have to run for long strech's completly engulfed in darkness, while the zombies stalk you.

ZF_Dustbowl itself looks like Dustbowl after a zombie apacolypse, with BLU's spanw point drenched in blood, doors opening slowly, and even a Control point laying on its side.

All during this the theme from Halloween is playing.

Good shit, and proves that all it takes is a good modder to turn a normal class based game like TF2 into an intense Class based survival FPS.

Shame the server's not up anymore.

The sound those damn Regenerators from Resident Evil 4 will haunt me forever. Also, since I'm afraid of heights, the Blades of Hades from the original God of War. Oh yeah, and the dark apartment in the Chicago level of Resistance 2.

Can't think of many. Discovering the secrets of Andale in Fallout 3 was pretty creepy. You kinda know what's going on but when they realize you know, that's kinda scary.

Have any of you got Garrys Mod? And have any of you ever seen the "Harmless companion cube?" If not then go download that. Spawn about five in front of you and then go about your daily garrys mod buisness. Then realise what the cubes do. And then horror ensues.

Survival horror has nothing on the bosses from Wiz'n'Liz. They were terrifying. That game was seriously messed up.
