Dead Space was not that scary. Bioshock was in no way scary at all. Harrowing yes *runs from mr. Bubbles* but not scary.

That crazy bastard's room in the lighthouse (and his journal) from the Dark Brotherhood quest towards the end.

The original Resident Evil, when the dogs jump through the windows. I think thats the only time I've jumped while playing a game.

I played Penumbra: Overture for a few mintues when I got that 'pay what you want' deal, as soon as the game said 'there could be anything living down here, I better turn my torch off' I just thought 'fuck this shit'.

When any game that you really enjoy ends.
Seriously though, any part of Dead Space scares the hell out me and causes me to run to the nearest save point...

Damn, that's why I dont play scary games. Even so I was caught by surprise on Tomb Raider 6: Angel of Darkness by some scenes, specially the one when the czech journalist is being held for "interrogation" and Lara is spying through the vent, when the guy is literally eviscerated, dilacerated and the whole wall gets painted in red, with excruciating screams as soundtrack, I almost shitted myself and was like: "This is Tomb raider, Not Resident Evil!"

Running into Pyramid Head for the first time in the apartment building in Silent Hill 2 shit me up something rotten. Luckily he's beginh a barrier and doesn't move towards you. However that just makes it creepier.

If you're playing with a good surround sound setup, it's really freaky when you first walk into the lower halls of the museum of history in Fallout 3. You can hear ghouls screaming and that pitter patter noise they make when they run all around you, but don't know where they are. It's the same with the upstairs level in the museum, but it's also super dark, and your pip-boy light only illuminates a few feet around you, so it can be pretty freaky.

I counter all horror games with a nice bit of "Yakety Sax". I swear to god that music takes all suspense and fear out of ANYTHING.

OT: proably the part in bioshock 1 with the dentist.

You mean this one? I always thought it was the Plaster Splicers that did it for me. in the water logged basement with the Power to the People.

Now that I think about it, the Plaster Splicers were creepy in general. Especially the ones in poses.

Holy shit, that really makes me want to play that game. That was awesome...
The last time I was creeped out by a game was probably in Fallout 3, in one of the vaults you read a log about them experimenting with white noise, and it starts getting a little wacky...
