Underrated: Alexander the Great. I took world history and ended up glossing the man over, as did plenty of other world civilization classes I'm sure. But look at all he accomplished! Look how much he had conquered by his early 20's! Nowadays our accomplishment of that time period is moving out of our parents house...

I'd say the world in general knows more about us then we do about them...even when their public figures and pop culture is just as interesting...
