World Order, but someone posted a couple of their music videos on the forums a few weeks back so I'm not sure that I'd call them completely 'underrated'.

Dark Moor. I think they are amazing but no one I know, not even people who love symphonic metal/neo classical, know who they are

Matt & Kim. Not many people now about Matt & Kim, right. Right?
Check out "Daylight" by Matt & Kim.
I've heard about them, from a friend in fact, and if nothing else they are unique (and obviously not a lot of people know about them) :D

OT: Poets of the Fall. I pledge to get these guys noticed so...

The Killing Tree. They broke up a while ago, but I got The Romance of Helen Trent (one of their CDs) for Christmas, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find.

That's the only one I can think off at the moment.

Sodom remains my favorite underrated band. They're somewhat known, but aren't taken too seriously, despite two fantastic albums and several other excellent/good ones.
Also Therion. They're short changed quite a bit, I've found, for the developments that they've given to symphonic metal.

They've been around for ages, but Meshuggah dont get anywhere near the amount of praise they deserve, i only know 1 other person who's heard of them, and that was because i was listening to them in class.

I challenge you to find more relaxing music.
Nice, I was looking for things like this.

Try Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai and the album that Salyu made for the film "All About Lily Chou Chou", it has some very relaxing music.

Just note that sometimes Sigur Ros and EiS sometimes go a little more heavier, but still they are very relaxing, at least for me. Try them!

Urgh, Karnivool get far too much attention where I live.

Here's my pick:

"January 2nd, 2011. 5:44 p.m. I entered into a thread which I have seen like ten times in the past. I still decided to give my opinion into Underrated Bands, and gave my usual list of 21 bands. Still interested in new music, I decided to read the rest of the posts, and have been coming into some new music, but not really so much of my interest except for 2 songs, one which I was really taken away by it, and I feel that I...
MUST INVESTIGATE FURTHER!"

Guess which song it was.

I think all the bands I love have their own fan base. Where hardcore and metal are concerned, bands support each other and fans are incredibly loyal so they aren't underrated in that sense
Commercially, I'd say that my two favourite bands have commercial potential but not in our time. The Gaslight Anthem and Gallows both would have been huge in the 70s/80s because their music was what that time period needed/demanded. Gaslight would have been as inspirational as Springsteen and Gallows would have had the impact of Minor Threat or The Clash. It's a different world now, though

Is that the band who did the JCB song then disappeared into obscurity again?

OT: The Flobots

Virtually none of my friends have heard of them and of them not one of them (there are only like 2 anyway) have heard any song other than Handlebars when their other songs are so much better musically and lyrically

The other songs and albums may appeal to you more because that one is a little different to the others but it is my favourite

a lot of ska-punk bands like less than jake, reel big fish, operation ivy and the mighty mighty bosstones seem almost unknown amongst people around 16 in the uk
I'm 16 in 5 days and I know of less than Jake though I don't seriously listen to them and I love Reel Big Fish. So there! :p
But I know what you mean, my friends think I'm a freak when it pops out of my itunes

Nujabes

Uyama Hiroto

Olafur Arnalds

Long Distance Calling

Although none of them are post rock (except for the last one) it seems like stuff that would be up your alley.

I really liked Olafur Arnalds and Long Distance Calling, thanks for introducing them to me. I didn't really like the other 2 songs, but hey, I'm always open for new music. Again, thanks!
