Every other modern RTS took the idea of capturing flags but failed to recreate the arcade style gameplay. The game was quite difficult though.
Or is it too old? 1996 or even older as far as I remember...

The Longest Journey. The protagonist actually developed and changed and the settings wear imaginative. It had flaws but most people never heard of it and it came out after the over-mind declared the point and click genre dead.

Space Station Silicon Valley was just fantastic!

Psychonauts, Body Harvest and Skies Of Arcadia also deserve a mention

Idk bout being the most underrated ever but here are two of my big time stealers:
Dark Messiah Might and Magic - garbage story and disappointing ending but I really enjoyed the gameplay
Red Orchestra- realistic WWII shooter. you die in like 2 shots, automatic guns jam, sniper rifles don't have perfect accuracy, oh and you don't play as Americans (hard to accept I know). A large part of it is tank battles but I stay away from those myself

"Underrated" should be applied to games that people thought were bad, not games you people think are obscure. Just because it's not like "Call of Duty" famous doesn't make it obscure, and being obscure doesn't make it underrated.
Underrated would be like everyone saying GTA4 sucked but really it was the best game ever or something.

Psychonauts, VtM:Bloodlines, Justice League Heroes.

In a sense, NFS: Hot Pursuit 2. Not because it's truly underrated, but because it always seems to be overlooked in favor of its younger -and much closer to mediocrity- brother, Underground.

If a million people say Psychonauts and Vampire Bloodlines, then they obviously aren't "underrated". That would also mean that they're not even obscure, which some of you seem to count as being underrated.

I would say TimeSplitters 2 for PS2 and Fire Emblem 7 for GBA. Both are great games and had lot of fun with both of them. It is true that both of the series are quite popular but these ones havent got enough credit.

I didn't think Timesplitters was very good until the third one. The first two creeped me out with their lack of personality but the third game took the funny-looking characters and the interesting premise of time travel and gave them life with a delightful cast and an actual plot.
