Oddworld Strangers wrath. We have an unfinished plotline because of YOU! Yes, you, the reader, I can see you, with your beady little eyes and your money grubbing little fingers, YOU SAW THE GAME IN THE STORE! Did you buy it? Noooo... You went and bought another game... I BLAME YOU!

(if you bough OWSW, then disregard that entire starement...)
I've heard of that...was it related, in story or whatever, to the original Oddworld games? I loved Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, but that's the only game in the series I picked up.
It was in a separate part of oddworld, but with similar themes of industry vs. harmony with nature, it was a 1st person shooter/platformer, with the only weapon being a double barreled crossbow that shot small animals that had different effects. Great game, and if you are into shooters or any of the other oddworld games, I suggest you pick it up.

I really loved the Timesplitters series on the original Xbox, and I don't remember a single commercial for that at all, and I haven't heard much about it from anybody, either. Ever. It was so much fun, and, for its time, it had a lot of really amazing levels and weapon choices! I loved it!!!
OMG, Timesplitters owned ass so badly. The AI is just so awesomely good, but I only ever played it on PS2. Shit, I'm buying that next time I see it, you reminded me.

I would have to say the Sly Cooper series.
It had stealth, action, puzzle solving, humor, great characters, and (perhaps) most importantly: cell shading.
Sly Cooper was one of the earliest games to have cell shading, which is widely used today on different levels.
Not to mention the fact that the wide range of characters and missions meant you would never get bored, and not want to put it down until the end. Climbing on the side of a moving train as Sly is one of my fondest memories in video gaming.

I just re-read what I wrote. It sounds like an ad. :D

A series is rarely underrated and for all the screaming we few on this forum that hate Halo there are a legion of loyal fans that made Halo 3 one of the biggest launches in gaming history. I rarely hate games and I don't hate Halo, its an average game, I hate the fans. As a matter of fact that is the reason I hate Final Fantasy so much.

Ah well, on topic, as I said if its a SERIES its most likely not underrated because it sold enough to warrant a fucking sequel.

With that being said, underrated games are Planescape: Torment, Septerra Core, Psychonauts, and Beyond Good & Evil.

Definetly agree with Timesplitters. Those games were the definition of awesome, and it's a damn shame Free Radical went under. (I know Crytek bought them, but I still have doubts that we'll be seeing another TS soon).

But I can't forget Freedom Fighters. You could lead squads of up tp 12 guys in epic firefights and storm enemy strongholds with your team on your back. No other game since has made you feel like you really are leading an army. Still, seems like no one mentions it anymore.

I agree with you there! There are few Jrpgs that I like, but I really enjoyed the Tales series. It doesn't have turn based combat, yet you still get the huge and epic storylines that you expect from Jrpgs. I enjoyed this series more Final Fantasy and think overall, its a better game.

Fanboys of Final Fantasy may start rants now.

Stubbs the Zombie was an awesome game. So was Wallace and Gromit: Project Zoo.

I think the last gen Spiderman games were underrated. Also The Lord of the Rings games on the last gen systems (although I was like REALLY into LOTR when they game out)

MICRO MACHINES, FOR THE LOVE OF THE INTERNET PORN GOD, MICRO MACHINES.

Yes, it has broken gameplay, bad graphics, and horrid sound, but...the multiplayer...

It's so absurdly stupid, broken, and random that you just can't help but laugh your head off.

Psychonauts and Beyond Good & Evil both did great and their making aBeyond good and evil sequel (which makes your argument false and nullified)

The Lineage series. WOW just about copied everything from that game but it atleast had other great ideas. I bet most of you haven't even heard of it!
