That was actually based off the second half of the same novel. There's no excuse for the third one though.

American Psycho 2. I don't know if it counts since it's a completely different movie changed at the last minute to be a squeal.

Crank 2, the first one was ridiculous enough (Don't take me wrong, it was pretty good), But this next one is looking pretty stupid... HE DIED AT THE END OF THE FIRST ONE. THERE IS NO WAY HE SURVIVED JUMPING OUT OF A HELICOPTER OVER A MILE HIGH OFF THE GROUND!!!
I disagree. While the getting up and going right after are completely improbable, I have here evidence that he could survive. Number seven on this list:

I'm just saying that it provides a semi-plausible basis for continuing the story. And hell, it's a beer and a shot movie anyway.
She was in the back of the plane when it crashed, not hitting a car and then bouncing off of it on then landing hard again. Good point bringing that up though.

Underworld.

I mean, seriously, the first one was horrible enough without making a second and third.

Usually any movie franchise that goes into a third part falls victim to the filmmakers throwing every character they can into the film in lieu of plot. Spiderman 3 and PotC 3 quickly come to mind.

Part 4 is usually the studios waving a white flag saying, "We have nothing original to make so let's defrost Harrison Ford and Bruce Willis and get them to add another film into a franchise that went to pasture at least 10 years ago."

The Transporter was a perfectly serviceable dumb action movie, but everybody should have forgotten about it by the time the sequel came out. Now that the third one's coming out, all anybody remembers is how absolutely god-awful the second one was.

Although you pretty much have to admit that Die Hard 3 was better than Die Hard 2, even though neither was, you know, Die Hard. Live Free Or Die Hard should have, you know, died.

If this is done in the right way, it could be the most awesome film of all time. But I doubt it.

B: come onnnn that movie is still gonna be awesome... and you are probably gonna see it

Nintendo. When did THEY last innovate?

Farcry 2. Has nothing to do with Farcry 1... weird

Films... hmm...
I didn't like the end to The Bourne Ultimatum, considering that he jumped off a seven story building and lived. I really wish that he had died. It would have been more dramatic. But, it gets forgiven for ACTUALLY HAVING A PLOTLINE

lol my mind is blank right now.

Karate Kid 3 was pretty unnecessary, though mildly entertaining. But really if they make the Twitlight sequels... yeeeah unnecessary.

They already are. OMG are you going to see them too? (Repeat last part in preppie girl voice for full effect.)

I also found the MIB 2 movie unneccasarry. Also, are you counting prequels? As much fun as I had with Silent Hill Origins, I can't help but feel that its unneccasary as well. They should hurry up with the SH movie sequel though. I liked that movie.

I agree. The second movie was great, the first awesome. The third?! Crime against nature.

Yeah I actually agree about American Psycho 2, I figure that if they had dropped the American Psycho aspect, removed any mention of Patrick Bateman and renamed it just "All American Girl" and presented it as a whole new movie then I reckon it would have been recieved better.
Because as a movie in and of itself I found it to be quite enjoyable.

Ok people, why have none of you said Pirates yet?
Pirates 1 is one of the greatest films of our generation.
Pirates 2 was not by any means worthy of even being considered a Johnny Depp film.

The second Star Wars trilogy.
Those and I know I'm gonna get some hate for this but episode 6. Come on now that the big bad getting stomped by fugly muppets with rocks! Prequels will never be good as they're even more limited plot-wise than sequels. Jurassic park's sequels, Terminator 3 as 2 did too good a job of tying up loose ends Tremors 3 & 4 also should never have happened nor MIB2,
I disagree with the part about prequels. If the original had a good, solid ending or if important characters died then a prequel actually gives you more to work with. DMC 3, the only good follow up to the original was set before DMC. Another case in point: would you rather see Cowboy Bebop 2 or a prequel that focused on Spike's time in the Red Dragon Syndicate and had Jet in the ISSP?
