I'm just on a thread roll tonight...
Anyway, this particular thread came to me after I tried time and time again to get my Battlefield 2 to run...
EA made a huge mistake partnering with punkbuster, as it completly made Battlefield 2 unplayable. While it wasn't soley at fault, I still just gave up and downloaded the demo. It started with the game crashing after a minute or less of play.
Updating to the next patch was a step backward, as the game froze before I even joined a game.
The final patch was the cherry on the pile of crap.
Punkbuster wouldn't let me join for its own random reasons.
So I said screw it, and am now enjoying the demo more than the actual game...
I've browsed countless threads of annoyed players who regret buying Battlefield 2, but still awknowledge the many lucky people who are able to play...

Another game that came to mind is GTA IV.
While playable, it was very annoying having to install Rockstar Social club and games for windows live...
They constantly get in my way, start up when I don't need them, and interfere with my programs...
It's just annoying, because we all know that hackers are going to find a way to bypass these things eventually, and the people that end up suffering are the ones who spent their hard earned money...

GTA IV

It was so goddamn glitchy and unfinished when it came out that it was unplayable especially on the PS3

I stopped playing Dragon Age because of the constant freezing. That turned out to be my Xbox though.
[sub]Should've bought the PC version...[/sub]

Stalker is notorious for bugs rendering the game unplayable (until later being patched, that is), and Modern Warfare 2 has had some frustrating "exploits" online.

I once tried to play Shadow the Hedgehog. Yeah, it was the most frustrating and unplayable game I remember playing.

Conflict: denied ops. that game was just so...... mediokre of a shooter with graphis that looked like somebody through pixels into a blender. it sucked, especially when compared to the xbox conflict, global terror wich was kick A.

Little big planet...... just not my forte.

Kingdom under fire: Circle of Doom. THey royally effed up the KuF series with this installment, thank God Kingdom under fire 2 is coming back with the true action RTS style.

Lastly, Halo 3 ODST. once again unplayable due to its mediokerness. games need to be original, not. Hey! heres Halo 3....again.

Oh, quick addon.
Sim City 4.
Apparently my video card was juuuuuust not powerful enough.
I could play the game, but every so often the screen would barf a barrage of pretty colors at me, and getting rid of them took some skilled camera tinkering...
But that was on my old PC.

Portal.

I bought it for PC, loaded it up on my admittedly old laptop, and it ran great. Unfortunately, it crashed every time I tried to enter a portal. This made for a fairly hard game, since I couldn't so much as leave the first room or see the first puzzle. Thank heavens for The Orange Box on consoles.

Has anyone here ever tried to play the Silver Surfer, for the NES? If any game can be said to be unplayable, that was it.

Battlefield Heroes. You'd think that an online shooter would be easy to pick up and play, but Fuckbuster screwed over my connection.

This is without mentioning rich players using real money to buy advantages over the clusterfucked free to play people.

GTA IV, the driving mechanics made me quit prior to the first actual level
I'm not sure why you would say GTA4, apparently I got the good version. Yes the driving is different but it was by no means broken. As for a broken game I would go with 3D Sonic games. Just try to play them I dare you.

Hah!
Never.
Ever.
Ever touch those shitty ass games.
"Free to download" games are always SHIT because they have "premium content" that people inevitably buy.
One of the fastest ways to ruin a game in my opinion...

Dragon Age used to crash a decent amount for me on PC with my substandard PC, until I realised that it was just pushing any button while the screen was flickering that was causing it to crash. Now I just wait it out and the driver boots up again and everything is fine.

With the added benefit of glitching the occasional boss into a idiot punching bag who just wants me to end his life with no resistance. =D

Frustrating would go to any fighter on anything above Normal difficulty barring Smash Bros. I'm okay at Smash Bros because I've put so much time into it, but Street Fighter or Soul Calibur? I'm screwed. I'm just really not good at them...

Also, Mario Kart Time Trials. The hit detection on DS piss me off so much. YOU CAN BOUNCE OFF THE SIDE OF THE WALL THAT IS BELOW YOU. HOW DOES THAT WORK?!?!

Army Men: Sarge's Heroes for the N64 was by far the glitchiest and most akward to play game I've ever had the misfortune to waste time on.
