I'm just on a thread roll tonight...
Anyway, this particular thread came to me after I tried time and time again to get my Battlefield 2 to run...
EA made a huge mistake partnering with punkbuster, as it completly made Battlefield 2 unplayable. While it wasn't soley at fault, I still just gave up and downloaded the demo. It started with the game crashing after a minute or less of play.
Updating to the next patch was a step backward, as the game froze before I even joined a game.
The final patch was the cherry on the pile of crap.
Punkbuster wouldn't let me join for its own random reasons.
So I said screw it, and am now enjoying the demo more than the actual game...
I've browsed countless threads of annoyed players who regret buying Battlefield 2, but still awknowledge the many lucky people who are able to play...
Another game that came to mind is GTA IV.
While playable, it was very annoying having to install Rockstar Social club and games for windows live...
They constantly get in my way, start up when I don't need them, and interfere with my programs...
It's just annoying, because we all know that hackers are going to find a way to bypass these things eventually, and the people that end up suffering are the ones who spent their hard earned money...
