You want distrubing songs, try just about anything by Anal **** or GG Allin. The content is usually just pretty stupid, but the fact that they even exist...
With the header image on that youtube video, I either REALLY

DO

or

DO NOT

want to proceed and watch it... I just... can't... figure it out.
It's a bit of both. DYE Fantasy is...an experience. I recommend it to anybody. It's a damn awesome three and a half minutes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMmXRpcztIY Quarter Tone Piano is one of the most unsettling things I've heard in a while. Not sure I like it, but it sure is interesting to me.

"Ripe [With Decay]" by Nine Inch Nails, a completely discordant instrumental. Not fun to listen to in the dark when you're tired.

Maybe "Kill Everyone" by Skrillex? I dunno, I didn't like it...

And THIS may take the cake for some of you...A Vocaloid cover of the Lavender Town theme with spooky Japanese lyrics! Yaay! (embed didn't work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdVp-b9yjjk )

What? How has

Not yet been presented?

While the two songs are directly linked and "Everything dies" is like a gigantic bucket of sunshine, "Lung" really messed with me the first time I heard it, and I am not one to be unsettled over anything.

Make sure you listen to the end, or at the very least skip to "Lung" at about 7:45 in. Go ahead and turn it up... And be sure to give my regards to the next frog you meet.

This isn't really a song so much as just random noise. But it's so creepy that I can't bring myself to listen to it.

Far away the most directly uncomfortable "song" I can think of. Rice's material generally copulates with controversy, as part of his schtick, but the discomfort intensity radiating off this one is like staring into a laser through a microscope.

Anyway, listen to this if you want to empty a room and lose friends. I guess there's a strange kind of utility in that.
The term "trying too hard" was MADE for that. He even ended it with a description of horror-film rape. I can't even get mad at it.

OT: If we're counting "sound samples" masquerading as "songs", then this wins.

Actually, Aphex Twin loves to screw around with his stuff until its as unsettling as hell. I mean, listen to this stuff:

And even the stuff that's ostensibly "happy and bouncy" can get warped into something demented when Aphex Twin puts his filthy paws on it:

1. I don't remember the name of the song, but the music video had three alien-fish people in business suits opening an apple at a table. That gave me the shudders for a few hours.
That would be "Parabola" by Tool. Great song, but SERIOUSLY fucked up video. As are most Tool vids.

Wheeeeee.

"Silently I enter through the broken basement window now to wait
It's twelve o'clock the time has come to ascend the staircase to the hunted
One
Make way to the second floor right outside your open bedroom door
One last time to sleep in peace unaware of brutal things that
Will be done
To you after you wake"
It's 11:57 at night.

One of my basement windows is broken.

My bedroom is on the second floor.

My bedroom door is slightly open.

DAMN YOU TO HELL.

As punishment, you get to listen to a man shrieking as his body burns with bubonic plague and a dead-voiced woman speaks French.

French...

This song drives my boss up the wall. Personally it's one of my favorites.

Sufjan Stevens - John Wayne Gacy Jr.

This one is probably my old roomate's least favorite thing ever. If he hears it he gets furious. I gotta admit. It's not pleasant. Most peope I know don't make it a minute in. The rest usually tap out before 2 mins. The opening sound is harsh. It sounds like glass cracking, paper tearing, wood splintering, tv static and gears rattling all transposed over eachother and melding in one terrible 3 minute intro. Then another seven minutes of unpleasantness.

Nurse With Wound - I Cannot Feel You as the Dogs Are Laughing and I Am Blind.

Couldn't think of any unsettling songs so I'm linking this truly unsettling short video instead. Enjoy!
That's beautiful <3
um... O'Malley's Bar by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds is a bit unsettling, but I don't really listen to much enough of this sort of stuff.

Sonic Youth- Sunday

My reasons for being creeped out by this song are unknown to be honest, I do like it however.

I had a little think, and then I remembered this lovely number from my childhood. Not the best thing for a six year old to hear.

There you go:

Mine would be from Tool also. Video and Lyrics aswell as the music are quite unsettling, I think. Especially the later half of them.

Sitting here knowing its about it play is making me feel physically ill. But I promised I would listen to it whenever it came on for whatever reason as a constant reminder (Been clean of that little habit for closing on 4 months.)

I find it unsettling. I find it destructive. I find it beautiful and perfect.

Heh. I am 21 and that song is just as powerful as it ever has been. 4 years since I discovered it.

Oh, and here is another one. One that I genuinely cannot listen to.

Now that song... That song is just that song, I guess.

How disturbing those two songs are is debateable. For me they are incredibly unsettling.

Oh, and one final unsettling song.

So in order:
- A song about self harm leading to suicide.
- A song about an abusive relationship.
- A song about a young man killing himself.

That song... I actually liked it. And the music video. It was mesmerizing. A little bit fucked up but it all strangely worked.

I figured you'd be here carpet bombing the thread with AFX videos... Not that I mind, it gives me an Aphex Grin. ;)

Yeah, It's an weird piece to evaluate. Though it's blown up to be creeptastic and draw controversy, the vocals and lyrics are courtesy of Jim Goad, portland author and columnist who was jailed for 2 years on aggravated domestic abuse charges. It's dressed up in showmanship, but the source is uncomfortably candid.

Boyd Rice, the musician behind the audio is also a bit notorious as a counterculture troublemaker. Down to brass tacks, I don't think he is actually a BAD person, but he certainly isn't afraid of inviting people to think so of him: appearing on neo nazi talk shows and brandishing daggers on the cover of American Front magazine, being pen pals with Charles Manson, presenting ex-first lady Debbie Ford with a skinned sheep head as a prank and knocking around with Anton LaVey until he decided the Church of Satan was too mainstream and democratic and founded the Abraxas Foundation: "A Satanic Neo-Fascist Thinktank"...

... And since he wasn't content with that, going for some Guinness Record of eccentricism, he also opened a Tiki Bar in Denver. ;)

I don't really care about his 'amoral' doings though. I don't agree with all his politics, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying his music.
