uh no that's just based around electricity im talking about all energy and infamous ripped off an 80'2 scifi novel i read.

yea but electricity (to our knowledge so far) is the only form of energy we know and can interact with. Also infamous was based on a comic book, so the GAME isn't ripping off anything, the comic which the game was BASED ON is.

Also cut them some slack, it's hard to find any original ideas that aren't completely ridiculous ex:

I actually thought of this one before I found out about Gambit: the ability to convert any form of energy into another with 100% efficiency. Convert heat energy to potential to kinetic to radiation to light to whatever, the list goes on and on. Actually, I designed an entire hero around it, his name was The Kineticist. It was pretty sweet.

Im sorry never said had to be a realistic also we interact with thermal energy all the time and we deal with nuclear fission and fusion.

All interaction between matter involves energy. The ability to redirect it would basically allow you to make fire ice, light dark and generally frak with reality. Make gravity null, If you could redirect it jesus.

Think about the amount of energy exerted on you as you sit reading this the gravitons, the photons the energy binding the materials your touching together. Oh my god just realised. Anything you touched or touched you the energy holding it together could be absorbed disintegrating it.

Just youd have to remember to turn it off before you went for a pee ;D

...and everything you are talking about is plain molecule movement which can only be altered by particle collision, what you are suggesting is an absorbtion of movement or telekinesis which goes with the rest of these unrealistic and stupid ideas from 50's where you could travel back in to a parallell dimensions where people's hair are blue sky is orange and water is green.... lol

yea I know... but they're impractical :/ , heating/cooling things up is nice (w00t! no need for air-conditioning) but hard to controll directly in a fixed position and light... well not destructive enough unless VERY concentrated

Very wrong. Do you know why bullets are designed to flatten on impact, rather than punch through? So they transfer more kinetic energy, and therefore do more harm. Light is energy as well. Damn near everything involves energy, not just electricity.

*sigh* I-M-P-R-A-C-T-I-C-A-L, I know how everything involves energy but electricity is something we can see touch feel (list goes on) which is as close to pure and physical energy as we got and also please read: know AND can interact with, that's altering them which is not necessarily having that much controll over it. we can just change the matter so it produces kinetic energy in a different way but can we capture it? no...
