Most useful weapon in Fallout 3

The dart-gun thing. Although I have only ever played about half of the game and have none of the expansions, so I have no idea if there's a gun that could replace that in my heart and arsenal.

The assualt rifle that looks like a G3. It is fairly common and the 5.56mm ammo is every where if you look good enough, and with 100 small guns it dose like 40 damage.

I have to agree on the hunting rifle as the most useful, but word of advice kiddies.

Go to the Republic of Dave and kill Dave. Unlock his safe and find 'Ol Painless. It's a hunting rifle that does a little more damage. The only downside is no more of Dave's Republic. Worth it, for a more powerful useful weapon.

Or you could I don't know do the quest and tamper the vote. He leaves, and you get permission to loot the place.

I would say firebrand, a crit hit pretty much one shots anything. Crits nearly every shot. Downside is that it rarely pops up, and you can only find two alien blasters in the game (which are the only things to repair it with) and I have only found about 240 ammo for the thing the whole game.

I guess my fav would be Vengeance nearly every group of super mutants has a gatling laser or two with them, ammo is everywhere and can be bought. There is nothing like raining destruction down with Fawkes in tow using a gatling laser as well.

Then again the Gauss rifle is my favorite to cruise around the wasteland with, I get it repaired at Haley's with the glitch there.

With Point Lookout installed I'd say the double barrel shotgun is a rather good weapon. And Sydney's Ultra 10mm is sick as well fully automatic, big clip and easy to repair. But of course, if you must kill every ************ in the room the Mirv. However, with a good big guns skill and the Pyromaniac perk the flamer becomes one of the most powerful weapons you can have

By the time i got the Gauss Rifle, I had enough ammo for it to blast the wasteland to bits, headshots own with it, and my energy weapons skill is high, so it tears up everything.

Because of the Repair Rethought mod; every single weapon. But mostly it's a tie against the unique Plasma Rifle and Lincoln's Repeater.

I'm a big fan of the Blackhawk. I got lucky once, and found about a hundred rounds for it at Flak and Shrapnels, which restocks every couple of days, so ammo has never been a problem. It does huge damage, great range and easily repaired.

What is your most useful weapon in Fallout 3? Mine would have to be the hunting rifle because, every time I run out of ammo, my weapon breaks, or an enemy is too far to punch to death I always have a hunting rifle as a back up weapon and it never disappoints.

The Rock-It Launcher, easy. There's merchants everywhere who'll repair it for cheap, and you can load the damned thing with literally Anything!

Can't go past the combat shotgun for use at close range. Messes them ghouls up good.
At mid-long range I love Lincolns repeater... accurate and does huge damage with head-shots.

My most useful weapons are the Terrible Shotgun and the Xaunlong Assault Rifle. Although Lincoln's Repeater comes in a close third.

My choice would be the Fat Man (or Experimental MIRV if you wanna get ridiculous.)

It's a one-shot "solve everything" device.

As Tony Stark says, "I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once."

In the early game the Hunting Rifle was my bread and butter. But im level 20 something now and it dont cut it anymore. Now I use the Plamsa Rifle, Wazer Wifle, and the Blackhawk most.

The Blackhawk unique .44 Magnum is the best all-around - get high enough small guns you can take out an Enclave soldier with two shots to the head, or drop a Deathclaw with a full clip.

I've loved the hunting rifle for quite a long time now, it's treated me quite well. Though I've got my AK-47 rather pimped out atm.
