Now, I know threads like this have been done before, and they are also frowned upon. But this is a burning question I have had ever since I played it, and The Escapist is where I thought I would find answers.

Now, I believe that SitRep and Scrambler are the useless perks.

Scrambler: It just a dead giveaway that someone is near you, unless you don't seem to be glancing at your map. Unless you are rushing (marathon/lightweight/commando/ninja) around with Claymore doublers (scavenger/2 claymores) there's no need for the pro.

SitRep: It's not as good as it used to be (Bomb Squad/Cod4) but it's only good if there is claymore doublers again.

Discuss.

Ninja...I don't run across many Heartbeat Sensors online. I watch my Killcams, too. The Pro version with Silent Footsteps is very useful, though.

Ninja Pro is actually one of the very best perks.

I agree with the Op though, that Scrambler is not useles, but actually more useful to your oponent than to yourself.

Is there a perk for simply playing the game?

If there is I will take that!

[sub]I insulted Modern Warfare 2, I'm so clever. Fnar fnar[/sub]

I didn't really see the point of Commando Pro. Surviving high falls is cool and all, but a bit pointless.

Tactical Knife + Commando = AWESOME

And the no fall damage is great for making a quick escape from a high place, if you are, say, a sniper.

Fixed that for you.

And I guess you're right.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use the one-man army perk.
My friend was obsessed with it for a little while, then got Pro and just stopped using it altogether. I think all he wanted was to have Pro unlocked, he didn't care about the perk itself at all.

Well, I don't snipe much. I'm just doing it to get a Thermal Scope to help on Estate. Because Estate is full of foliage and shit.

Yes, I have one for Assault Rifles. But I don't like using the scopes on them. Makes them nearly unusable in CQC.

Anyway, I tend to SMG rush.

Hardline. Does anyone use that?

Totally not worth losing Stopping Power or Cold Blooded.

Scrambler is liability on normal and useless on Hardcore. I'd even take SitRep over it. One Man Army is pointless unless you have a very specific game plan for something, like sniping for a bit then switching to close range.

Ninja Pro is meh on normal, but amazing on Hardcore for running around. I always play with headphone, and totally rely on hearing the enemy to survive. Ninja Pro is a big advantage.

I'm going with One man army, closely follow by sitrep.
One man army is pretty much only useful, imo, if you just use it to constantly reload claymores and noob tubes over and over.
The only real use I've found for sitrep is pairing it with marathon/cold blood/ tactical to hunt down campers.

100% agree.

I love ninja, the number of kills i make from hearing people is insane.

OAT: I use cold-blooded over stopping power alot, apparently that's bad lol. What do you guys think?

All's fair in love and war, my friend. And since MW2 is a game about war that fanboys seem to love, we've got that covered quite well.

I only played an hour or so of splitscreen multiplayer on a TV that I could completely cover with one hand, but during that hour, I found that the death streak "perks" were completely useless.

I think they've removed the nearly-useless perks since CoD4 (Eavesdropper anyone? Listening to even more 12-year-olds insulting each other isn't my idea of a bonus).

It's great for ninja classes with marathon and lightweight, because you can get almost anywhere on any map extremely quickly, and you won't take any damage while doing so. It's also useful for jumping on people and knifing them in the head.

SitRep Pro is useful as it makes footsteps louder, but is a ***** to get.

OMA I hate, it is useless when someone is near you while you have a sniper and can't switch to a secondary weapon.
