I agree that one man army and scrambler are the most useless of the lot.
I have become irritated at cold blooded though. It helps avoid air support but against thermal scopes you appear as a black figure and are very easy to see.

Useless things about perks for me:

Scrambler: Just tells people that you're in the area.
Lightweight Pro: You spend a very small amount of time climbing things, making you do it faster isn't worth it really.
Hardline: 1 less kill just isn't worth it in my opinion.
Scavenger Pro: You're already getting ammo from dead enemies anyway, why also increase the amount of ammo you carry in the first place.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use the one-man army perk.
I see it used all the time on Search and Destroy. It's useful, but very noobish considering how it's only used on noob-tube classes to keep a constant rain of grenades.

sitrep pro is retarded being able to see grenades and claymores is useful but louder enemy footsteps is pointless

Lightweight on an Assault Rifle or LMG is pretty rare. It's really only worth it on SMGs.

Scrambler, IMO, isn't that useless, it's just situational. If you're clever, there are times when having the enemy know that there is a presence in the area is useful. But as a perk in general, it sucks, just like Lightweight.

Hardline. Does anyone use that?

Totally not worth losing Stopping Power or Cold Blooded.
Yes it is if you play hard core, Cold blooded only helps you so much when theres no map to begin with, but getting you're kill streaks earlier in HC can be the difference between winning or losing.

I like using Hardline in regular as well, but I can understand using Stopping Power above it.

Scrambler is terrible. Always a dead give away. When i first got the game i use dit thinking it was good. I realised i was getting killed alot because of it. You could see the diffrent in K/D after i taken it off.

I'd probably have to go with scrambler being the most useless, just because the only time I use it is with a lightweight/marathon class and that already lets me go through claymores just fine.

Also sitrep pro is pretty amazing for anyone with a headset or something, because not only does it increase the volume of your enemies footsteps, it makes it so that for you, your footsteps and the footsteps of all of your teammates are very quiet, useful because any time you hear any footsteps you know its an enemy. Also, OMA pro is far from useless, unlimited ammo for any situation without having to go find scavenger packs sounds good to me.

I'm a camper, deal with it, I set up claymores and then cover a small portion of the map from behind pretty good cover.

Since these skills are more useful to campers, let me be the one to tell you why they are good.

Sit Rep - A skill I view as underrated, as a LMG camper it allows me to guess other campers positions and to hear enemy footsteps. This takes a little getting used to, however it is best used in certain ways, it allows you to hear enemies walking up from behind or around you, also once you learn the certain sounds that different terrains make, it allows you to generally predict the exact direction the sound is coming from. Also makes trowing grenades back kinda useful, but I've rarely used it for that.

OMA - is good for campers who like to roam, that is you can set up a camping area then take care and slowly move between a few while leaving multiple claymores and I use it in conjunction with my LMG so I can spray enemies and not worry too much about ammo. Pro is like half the time and leaves you defenceless for less time which is alright as an addition to this skill.

I also almost always have Cold Blood. But Stopping power is also pretty good for spraying buildings with a LMG.

Marathon, Lightweight and Commando make for some fun knifing.

Most skills have their place, but Hardline is pretty useless.

i wouldn't add in sitrep b/c the pro is actually pretty useful with enemy footsteps getting 4 times louder.

Danger close is good, increased explosions, but pro sucks, increased airstrike damage (im talking about the bombing part) harriers get kills with the floating harrier and precision, well i just dislike, but i bet pro would be good with precisions :p

OR Scrambler, basically it tells enemys when your near since their mini-map dies :p

I didn't really see the point of Commando Pro. Surviving high falls is cool and all, but a bit pointless.
Hey! Thanks to that perk I accidentally caused my entire team to commit suicide.

I love that Perk now.

Oh, and I vote for Sitrep, because it seems kinda useless.

not entirly the Sitrep pro makes footsteps 4 times louder while the Ninja pro makes the users footsteps 4 time quiter, sitrep pro cancels out ninja pro allowing you to hear the guy even though he has ninja pro.

anyway One man army is the most useless, i would of prefered if they kept overkill, overkill normal allows you to take two primary weapons, Overkill pro would allow you to take two secondary weapons (i like the idea of Socom/spas combos without have to search corpses).

thats what infinity ward should do, along with new maps, new guns and perk packs. maybe even increase the level cap to 80.

I don't understand why everyone thinks scrambler is useless. No, scratch that, I don't understand why no one thinks. Yes, in regular play it can be a telling sign of an enemy approach, but not to snipers who have their eyes on the scope. Also, it delays claymores. Is that not useful to you? I mean, fewer people use them now since you have to choose them over grenades, but try to tell me that you've never been killed trying to take out a sniper that way. And don't even try to convince me that you don't try to run around, guns blazing in hopes of getting kills without actual plans of how besides, see man, pull trigger.

Have you ever played hardcore? You know the radar only appears when you press start, so scrambler doesn't give you away unless they just watch the radar, and then they'll just have the menu screen up and won't see you coming anyway. Additionally, it delays claymore explosions, and I can assure you that hardcore players definitely use claymores. Ooh, search and destroy is another good one. I bet getting that last kill and going to defuse the bomb only to get killed by a claymore is kind of irritating.

I know this can be substituted for sitrep, but sitrep doesn't protect you from the explosions. Just because you don't know how to use it doesn't make it bad. If that were the case, then condoms must be horrible things(har har). Seriously though, scrambler is useful in the right situations, you just have to learn what those situations are.

Oh, and, um...hardline is dumb. I understand it and all, but most players can substitute needing one less kill with, well, getting one more kill. But, I can see why it would be useful to those who have trouble getting that one extra kill, so I can't say that hardline is useless.

Now, I know threads like this have been done before, and they are also frowned upon. But this is a burning question I have had ever since I played it, and The Escapist is where I thought I would find answers.

Now, I believe that SitRep and Scrambler are the useless perks.

Scrambler: It just a dead giveaway that someone is near you, unless you don't seem to be glancing at your map. Unless you are rushing (marathon/lightweight/commando/ninja) around with Claymore doublers (scavenger/2 claymores) there's no need for the pro.

SitRep: It's not as good as it used to be (Bomb Squad/Cod4) but it's only good if there is claymore doublers again.

Discuss.
Sitrep is not a useless perk at all, infact if you play hardcore it is one of the most important perks you could have, I watch my roommate play since I can't connect anymore anyway that's not important whenever he plays there are claymores riddled throughout the map, combine Sitrep/ Sitrep Pro with Full Metal Jackets and you have the ability of using their weapon against them.

I think Scrambler is the most useless perk, but I love it when people use them because then I kill them and they go WTF? How????

SitRep to me was entirely useless. I put it on one of my classes and and only detected one claymore with it before choosing something else.

Scrambler is not that great either. Sure it screws with the enemy mini-map but it also tells them you are close by.

I also find One Man Army useless because once you switch out you're stuck unless you have One Man Army on every class.

Actually, Scrambler is useful when you have have about 2-3 people using it, particularly on an urban map. It can remove the need for silencers since enemies near-by won't be able to see it.

SitRep is more useful on objective-based games, particularly on SAND (Search and Destroy).

For me, Last Stand isn't very useful, seeing as how Final Stand basically 1-ups it.
