A lot of games have been giving us more options to reign death to our foes by allowing us different abilities and/or perks. However, while some may be great additions to the arsenal, others...not so much. Have you encountered a perk or an ability that felt absolutely useless.

Example: I thought the Security Camera Plasmid in Bioshock was a downright waste.

Yours?

Body armour in Bad Company 2 was a bit ridiculous. I swear that in the 60 hours i sunk in that game I never saw any difference in damage absorbtion myself, in friends, my team mates or any enemies with it for that matter.

World of warcraft 31 point 1.0 hunter talent.

Lacerate.

I believe it did something like 90 damage over 18 seconds. Yay.

Hey, the claws are pretty fucking amazing if you can react quick enough.

Having a weapon in Vampire rain. If one of those things spotted you, they'd have reached you and killed you within 2 seconds. Considering each bullet did around 3% of their hp, it just didn't seem worth it.

Also, kicking in Deadrising. No good for a hoarde, as I found out after being a Frank and mustard zombie sandwich.

I always thought the black armor was useless, it's slowed you down so you ended up getting shot more.

The whip was rather unwieldy to me. The 6 foot blade and the claws were the best for me, the claws let you launch spikes up out the floor and the blade would cut through everything in just a few hits.

FFX status ailments, on the common enemies it's pointless 'cos you can almost one hit them all and on the bosses you want to use the aliments on, there immune to most if not all of them.

I totally agree, when you want something dead or destroyed those are all you need.

Admittedly I did quite appreciate the variety though, too many games focus on necessity in this day and age. The ability to cannonball into a helicopter is always a laugh. As is surfing a lawyers torso down a pavement sending pedestrians flying away either side. And the unnecessary large and powerful hammerfists hammer toss attack is just hilarious.

Barter, in Oblivion. And it was such a hell to train too... Oh, and the diplomacy skill in HoMM, yay... you convince like 3% of the enemy's forces to switch sides... but you don't want to do that, because in 99% of the time it'll screw with morale, or you'll have to disband a stack 10 times as powerful as the units you're getting. Damn you diplomacy!
Oh, and healing is quite ridonculous too... After a few levels you can heal something like 700 HP with your healing tent... and it works on only the hurt unit in the stack, no unit has that much HP! And it's usually quite impossible to know which units are hurt and which are not.

The Glaive from Blade II.
A boomerang like weapon which you have to charge up.
When charging up, you cannot move or attack with another weapon
In fact I'd go so far to say that the best weapon in that game was the one you started with, the Uzi Mach Pistol.

Aha! Good call buddy, but riddle me this... What about Lead Belly? Who the hell actually drinks the water in the game?! Stimpacks are there for a reason! I didn't eat or drink a damn thing because of rads.

The Security Camera Plasmid is useful if you ran out of hack darts and there's a splicer that you can throw your big blue ball on.
