Sooooo yeah....I had a lot of thoughts while reading this, some of them were:

-She should have her child taken off her
-She's too chubby to have wrinkles
-She's too young to have wrinkles
-How can her Mum care so much about appearences but doesn't seem to mind she is carrying quite a bit of extra luggage in her trunk
-Why hasn't her School taken notice that she has been coming to school with bruises/holes in her face?

Thoughts?

At least her skin will be tight like a baby doll, but she will be jacked up later.

EDIT:Also that mom should be locked up for injecting a strain of *deep breath* Botchulism (hope I get that right) in her child like that just for looks. Stupid uptight mothers only caring about looks of their kid as a means to project their own failed and sorry life to live through

I think some parents should stop attempting to live through their children and get help. She should have her daughter taken away for the child's sake and what she is doing should be illegal.

What the %*&^? She clearly isn't capable of raising a child, in addition she should have her mental health checked out.

Effing horrible. Just bad bad parenting.

"Hi little girl, your not pretty enough so lets stick a needle in your face"

I have 4 daughters. I want to throw this woman off a cliff.

It's not even as if the children beauty pageants (or any beauty pageants for that matter) are creepy enough as it is....

Wrong, wrong, wrong WRONG!

Seriously. Just no. No. No. No.

I don´t even need to detail why this is WRONG. It just is.

However, if anyone supports circumcision on kids but condemns this, I would find that immoderately amusing.

This.

This, this, a million times this.

This article makes me want to swear so badly, and I'm not usually even surprised by how low people can sink. This is wrong on so many levels, and I will not forgive our government if that kid is not taken away from that mother, forever.

This country already prioritises the parents over their children, and I have heard too many stories of kids being given back to their abusive parents because they "learnt their lesson" or were "reformed". It's one thing to do stupid/harmful things to yourself, but when children get involved it becomes unforgivable. The kid should be taken away, and the mother barred from having any more children, or looking after children in any way.

Edit: Just reread it and noticed she is now living in San Francisco. I hope to god that America's social services are better than ours, for the kid's sake.

This is one of those cases where it's obvious that the mother has an appearance based addiction similar to anorexia or bolemia. That is to say, a psychosis derived from a misplaced idea of where a woman's value as a human being comes from. The child should be removed from the situation for at least until the mother can undergo some serious therapy and is deemed fit as a mother again.

What the fuck is that?!

Seriously, what is wrong with that woman? The kid is 8 years old, she has no business getting botox, and that mother has no business raising a child if she's going to be pulling that kind of shit.

That's sick. Why would you do that? And yes, why did the school not notice the kid whose face was devoid of emotion?

I don't care how long it takes to develop, but please, somebody devise a test that shows how fitting a person is for parenting. This would be a "how not to do it" example.

edit: Wait what? She waxed her 8 year old daughter's "upper leg area"? Excuse me, but in some places that alone could be considered severe mistreatment.

That's so dangerous. Botox works as a paralyzing agent ... so if you get that into your bloodstream, you're pretty much dead. I'm suprised both of them haven't messed that up yet.

What are you doing, lady? 'Why, I'm injecting the most toxic and deadly substance known to man into my daughters face: it will make her look pretty'

Another example of beauty pageant fucked-up-ness...

Injecting Botulinum toxin restricts the movements of the muscles. so her face just can't move.
It is still pretty scary that's the avenue she goes down.
the mother is just living through her child.
or she is just using her daughter as a cash cow.

I always reserve my opinion of threads like this until I read the story for myself, as important details can be left out to sensationalise a story...

EDIT: AAAaaand after reading the full story I have to say this is one of those times that the story really does write itself: The mother is giving her daughter Botox so she can compete in child beauty pagents. Urgh! That is just bad parenting, making your child take a painful procedure, that can lead to many psychological problems, just so she can get a tiny edge in something you are pushing her into, that really won't help her future career or improve her later life.

bolded extract from article: When asked about whether these procedures signify a loss of childhood innocence, Kerry replied: "It's a tough world in the pageant world." Yeah, she really has her daughters' interests at heart.
