Its pretty bad to be hounest, its an interesting concept and some parts of the ship are cerinaly cool but its essentialy falllout 3s equivlent of doom, corridors, corridors, corridors and alot of shooting thats all you'll be doing for 2-3 hours atleast its not bad at first but gets real, real old quick.

Mother Ship Zeta would of been better if the aliens were less cliché.
Yeah because clearly 1950s sci-fi wouldn't be cliché today. Oh wait, that's the entire point. I have to honestly question this line of thinking and wonder if anybody these days truly understands that Fallout is supposed to be a complete embodiment of what people in the 1950s thought the future would be like.
No need to get angry, I understand what you mean.

I haven't played it but the "1950's B movie" is part of the Fallout dark humor. The games are based in future but inspired by the 50's which is why the aliens are based around 50's alien movies.

I played all of the DLC for Fallout 3, and feel that I can confidently say that Mothership Zeta was the worst of the DLC. The new guns aren't really all that fun to use, the aliens are boring and generic (not to mention annoyingly hard, and this is coming from someone who was already lvl 30 by the time he got on board the mothership).

The strength of Fallout 3 is in the ability to explore a massive world. This is exactly what Mothership Zeta did wrong, it took the massive world away, and made you trek through a series of narrow hallways. If the entirety of Fallout 3 was set up in the same way Mothership Zeta was set up, I have no doubt that Fallout 3 would have been almost universally panned by critics and players alike. I think we can thank our lucky stars that Mothership Zeta was only a tiny portion of the game.
I pretty much agree with this.

I thought it was a half-decent DLC. Not great, but not awful either. It does set a challenge for you. But trying to get it to fit into the Fallout 3 universe is liking trying to shove a badger into an empty beer bottle - it.just.doesnt.work. There is one moment that gets all "2001" though which is cool.

BTW, anyone who can prove you can get a badger into a bear bottle wins a cookie

The world turned into a nuclear wateland. Mutants have taken over the us capital. Robots with lazers have been bought by homeless people and use them to protect themselves from giant scorpians.

And you are bitching about non- realism?

Its not that unusel considering evereything thats happend in the game.

I like Fallout 3, and I admit that I don't have any of the downloadable content for the game, but Mother Ship Zeta seems wierd. The idea that alians may ne around in the fallout universe is intresting, and finding that crashed alien shipwith the odd radio transmition was cool. But the idea of being captured in an alien ship is a bit silly. The aliens are the basic green skined "takes us to your leader" like alians. It seems kinda dumb. If I could work on it I would make it, instead of being the lone wanders adventure, some sort of cartoon or old movie. So you would play through a 1950's (or 2077's) sci-fi B movie. I haven't played Mothership Zeta, so if you can explain anything to me about something I don't get, that would be helpful.
Get it. It's got a Samurai. 'nuff said.

Zeta is a nice addition and a great modder's resource (if you like that sort of thing).
There is a mod that lets you have a whole crew after you kill the aliens and take over the ship.
Although, if you own the Xbox 360 version or the PS3 version you probably won't care about mods. BECAUSE YOU CAN'T HAVE ANY! Muahahahahaha! Where are your console exclusives now! All and all, it is nice to have, if you are into alien weaponry and space themed games. And the stereotypical aliens fit the game's stereotypical atmosphere just fine! Not to mention the funny captive audio logs. Ah, good times indeed...

Mothership Zeta was ok. I really wish they had put more effort in it so the ship was more open instead of so linear like Operation: Anchorage.

Um... the Whole Fallout universe is more-or-less you playing through a 1950s post-nuclear B-film.
