I got her a card and a Willow Tree figure, she collects them. I also made her a peanut butter and jam sandwich because, for some reason, she loves them.

I got her a book that was on the recommended shelf at Waterstones. I can't buy stuff for my family because I have little in common with them and don't know what they like.

Me neither, but since I haven't moved out yet, I have to do something.

Everyone I saw while Mother's Day shopping yesterday, I wanted to kill.

I got her The Red Shoes, A Matter of Life and Death, Brief Encounter and various others including Hamlet as part of the J arthur Rank 70th anniversary boxset.

I'm a big Powell and Pressburger fan and Brief Encounter's the best and most classy "chick flick" ever so i thought she'd probably enjoy them

I didn't bother with a card and never do because they're not only a waste of paper and money but they mean basically nothing. i'd far rather give one thoughtful gift than a shite card and a mediocre gift.

Mothra's Day is the third weekend in May in my country. I'll give my mum a call and wish her a happy mother's day. Maybe my stepmom as well but I doubt it.

I got my mum a card and some Lindt chocolate, and generally been helping out and stuff.
I also had to pass on a "happy Mother's Day" to my friend, who's like a mother to several of us and can put on a great motherly voice :p

I dunno what I got her. She called me, said she'd bought some excercise thing her fitness intructor told her to get and that it was a present from me.
Got her a fancy card though.

Haven't seen her (or spoken to her for that matter) since I left the Us. (not that I'd have bought her something anyway)

You could always -make- a card, non? I know it seems cheap, but if you spend some time on it you could create something special.

Yeah, we have it here in Ireland :p

I live at home, so I'm with my mom anyway. Went to see my gramma and my nana though.

(also, it was £81, that's quite expensive)
£81 for a meal is pretty pricey
specially for 3 people?
at my local/ regular restaurant it works out about £50-60 for a meal for me, sister mum and dad =/

OT: i got my mother a card, and took her into town and just brought her a few things :)

Yeah, it's a bit dear for a 3 person meal. Just as well my dad was paying, heh.

There are no Hallmarks in my country so, eh.
Mother's day was on the 8th here and I got her some plants(she really loves gardening) + I did all the errands for her that day.

I would have got her a card if she wanted one, but she didn't. Anyway, I got her a necklace for her birthday which she was absolutely thrilled with. I also let my mum know she is special to me everytime I talk to her.
