A fair number of us Escapists like racing games, but I'm wondering how many of you are fans of real world motorsports, as well as which series you prefer.

I am American and live in an area with few racing fans. I predominantly follow both NASCAR and Formula 1.

If anything I would be a fan of NHRA. I like drag racing more than circuit racing. Though Formula 1 is fun to watch some times too. NASCAR I just can't get into. Like the comedian Jeff Dunham say's "What's you favorite part of NASCAR Bubba? They're makin' a left turn! They're makin' another left turn!!"

I like most forms of racing, except NASCAR/ARCA etc and the IRL or whatever it's going by these days.

The only races I ever attend are sprint cars. We have 2 tracks nearby. Other than that, there is little in the way of racing around here. Nearest drag strip is an hour and a half drive, and they only run bracket racing there now anyways (boo), and the nearest road course is 2 and a half hour drive.

I am a huge racing nerd, formula 1, DTM, WRC, Aussie v8 supercars, MotoGP, AMA motorcycle racing, whatever. As long as it involves turning left AND right and requires use of the brakes I love it. I do enjoy watching NASCAR on the road courses, usually good for a laugh. Unfortunatly finding coverage for anything but NASCAR is usually difficult

As bad as I hate to admit it, I follow Nascar Spint Cup with a passion. I know its thought of as a "redneck" sport, but I got hooked after attending a race in Rockingham North Carolina in 1997.

Agree with both, everyone loves high speed racing and gratuitous crashing!

It's too bad that NASCAR hasn't found a way to shed the stereotypes that have shackled it for years. I hear a lot of those stereotypes if I mention NASCAR in my town.

Here's hoping that Rockingham gets a race date again.

"Ooh look! They're makin' a left turn!"

Though I can atleast sort of understand how watching NASCAR could be entertaining, I can't imagine myself watching it and not being bored. I prefer nice curvy interesting tracks, or street races.

I don't play lots of racing games and don't consider it a special interest of mine but I do pick up some good ones. The last two I got were Forza Motorsport 2 and Midnight Club: LA. I also enjoyed multiplayer races in GTA4 (which is what convinced me to get MC:LA).

NASCAR would be fun as hell to do, but I've tried watching it and I don't understand how people can sit through it. All the booze and fried chicken in the world can't help it as a spectator sport!

Drag racing though... I love watching it when I get the chance.

I watch all the motorcycle and atv racing I can find, which isn't much! I have tried numerous motorcycle games, but none of them handle anything like a real bike. (Tourist Trophy is the best.) I have a gsxr 1000, which I drive entirely too fast on the street!

LUCKY! I only have a GS500F. All I could afford.

Buddy I hear ya. I ride a Triumph Speed Triple 1050, and nothing in the video game world gets the feel of a street bike right. The games that try to shoe-horn bikes into the game (I'm looking at you PGR4), end up making them useless or impossible to drive. Love the bike racing on TV though

Let's see.

I follow British Superbikes, Moto GP and Formula 1 more or less religiously.

DTM, E/ALMS, and British Touring cars I watch whenever I can. World Rally I stopped watching once it became the Sebastian Loeb show.

Slightly off topic but.
Anyone else extremely pleased to see Williams and Brawn top the timesheets in Aus today?
