now i have the demo, and it is fun

but i want to know is it definitely worth the £20?

whats the most epic battle you have had?

is there a mod to increase the army size?

and what do you actually do, is it just loads of mini quests?

It's an amazing game with a great modding community. Quests are just a really small part of the game, it's mostly about amassing a fortune and building your army. As for epic battles? Plenty of them, especially sieges.

The game has a huge modding community as well, with many different campaigns to play. There is really no reason not to get the game, unless you are looking for a story based one.

Really, I just got Mount & blade: with Fire and Sword, I hear the series is good, sounds like I have to play it now.

If you have M&B already, no.

If you don't have an M&B game, yes. Hells yes. My god, yes.

Never tried any mods, but it's probably one of the games I've been playing the most recently. And enjoying the most. I really like the sieges, especially when I'm defending a castle. A good bow goes a long way.

The quests are just a small part of it. Most of your time will be spent trading, training soldiers etc.

It has the best rpg combat system ever made, hell yeah it's worth it.

P.S. definetly get Warband, the original is just a downgrade and Fire & Sword is not as good as Warband.

Damn ****ing right it's worth the money. It's one of my most played games, ever. And I'm not usually the type to play any one game for long.

Although there is no plot, it's not just mini-quests stuck together. I suppose they start out small, but by the end, you're pillaging and plundering your way through kingdoms, and that is most certainly no mini-quest.

it's just great. You can invest tons of time and get equal amounts of fun. There are many different approaches to take, different styles of play, different fractions. And HUGE amounts of mods, just look at the mod forums and you will be amazed by the variety.

Maybe if you're not a MAN like me.

I spend my time stabbing peasants, and Nords, and bandits, and anyone else who looks at me funny.

It is quite fun. I think Warband is the most fun of the three.
But that's just my opinion.

Warband has the best mods in my experience, so I'd still recommend it.

I've put about 200 hours into Warband. As soon as I figured out how to play the game it never got boring. I also never actually played it with any mods either, It was just a great game. TIt will remain in my heart forever!

Now the most epic battle I've had? Well, It was when I decided to wait in a castle to read a book, suddenly, the castle was under attack by about 1000 Nords. So there was about 300 of us in this castle, with about 1000 nords outside the walls. When they started attacking, we somehow managed to stop them from getting up into the walls, there was around 75 of us left an we managed to break most the enemy waves. They eventually decided it wasn't worth the losses, so they broke off the siege. I had to use the arrows of dead allies just to kill enemy archers. It was pretty insane.. My character was pretty famous after that..So yeah the game is completely amazing...

P.S... King Gareth is demon spawn..

I have all 3 of them. And Warband is by far the best. The newest one Fire and Sword is actually my least favorite.

As mentioned before the modding community is huge and add a lot of different scenarios to the game. New equipment, troops even complete re works of the map. Plus I am by no means a computer genius, I would say I am somewhere between your Grandma and your 10 year old cousin in terms of computer tech abilities, but the mods are simple to install and run.

Enjoy!

single player is a great medieval sandbox...but you have to make your own story and objectives. the battles are pretty satisfying though =)

the multiplayer is by far the hardest ramp-up i've ever seen, it's not something you can jump into for a few rounds and expect to have fun or do well....your previous FPS skills will not transfer at all, be prepared for MONTHS of sucking.

I can see why the concept is good, but I don't get all the hype around the combat system. I tried Warband after seeing it referenced (admitedly, half-joking) as a possible sucessor to the combat system of Jedi Academy. I found it very dissapointing.

Damn- can't even read a book these days without your castle coming under siege. What is the world coming to?

Mount and Blade Warband is the best of the MB games. I love the large scale combat although the vanilla version lacks a in terms of troop strategy. I really enjoy the modded versions better that add simple formations such as Shield Wall for infantry or Wedge for the cavalry.

I have over 100 hours into the single player and haven't even touched the multiplayer.

Enjoy!
