Move or Kinect?

No doubt this thread has been created before, but I just can't be bothered to find it.

For me it's Kinect, mainly because I already have an Xbox, but the fact that you only use your body movements and voice seems to me a step in the right direction of gaming. The casual games they have created appeal to me, I like the idea of Microsoft introducing more laid back games to introduce family gaming to the 360.

I have nothing against the Move, I have no doubt it'll be a fantastic bit of Kit. I'm just expressing my opinion, what do you think? Which one does it for you?

I'd rather neither exist, but if I must choose it'd be Move. Move seems like it's much more precise and it seems it could actually be applicable to very nice games. I'll have to wait and see, but Move is showing more promise than the others.

If I were to get either(which I probably won't) It will be the Move, because I have a PS3. But I think that it will be better than Natal simply because it has buttons, which I think are crucial for many games.

Not only has this thread probably already been done before, but furthermore vs. threads are looked down upon as they can create flame wars.

Please keep this in mind next time.

OT: me, personally, I go with Move, but thats just because I have a PS3.

You can't critise me because you gave your own opinion on the subject, which if any, will lead to more flaming, thus making your point redundant.

PS Don't cry about it Malinda.

Move for me. I've got an Xbox 360, but far more games on the PS3 interest me. What makes me sad is Alan Wake would be perfect with the Move.

Kinect is interesting for dance games, but what it interests me more is as a physiotherapy tool for PCs. I think it has far more potential as a tool than a gaming device. Who knows, maybe that's where Microsoft is going and they're just testing it for gaming first, but the fact that the Kinect has a proprietary input and can't be used on a PC really disappoints me.

Neither.

I bought a PlayStation, not a damn wii. I bought my PlayStation because i didn't want a wii.

Motion control is unimportant to me. I don't like it. I don't think its the next big wave. I don't want it. I think its stupid.

Move and Kinetic can bite my ass.

How about neither? They are basically cheap replicas of the Wii tech so that Sony and Microsoft can continue ripping people of in order to try squeeze some extra cash after they found out that the casual console market makes a killing in hardware sales while fuck all in software sales so they can release whatever they please.

Neither, Kinect looks stupid, and Move looks like nothing the Wii isn't. Motion controls aren't doing anything to help gaming because there's no potential. Even when they are used properly, they are only novelty and they wear off quickly. If I must choose one, I'll take move because I'm at least planning on getting a PS3, but the xbox doesn't have enough for me as long as Steam exists.

I believe he was trying to give a friendly bit of advice so that you would know for next time.

OT: Move, I suppose, since I own a PS3 but not an Xbox. Honestly, though, I'd rather them make neither, as they seem to me to be cash-ins on the popular gaming trend at the moment. I'm happy with the way things are now, as I can play family-based games on my Wii, and single-player games on my PS3; I see absolutely no need for crossover, and I don't plan on shelling out the cash for it.

The MOVE, because it's like a Wii, but better. and Kinetic just doesn't look like it will do any thing except

They both look awful. Move looks like it's the wiiremote but slightly better, so it'll have slightly more accurate shovelware games that no one wants to play.

Kinect looks like it barely works and has a bad time delay.

All in all they both prove what people have been saying since about 2 weeks after the wii launched, that motion controls simply aren't as good as traditional controllers

Kinect, because I already own a 360, and I find the technology more interesting.

Also I think menu navigation by means of waving my hand through the air sounds awesome. "These are not the droids you are looking for".

I'd definitely say Kinect, purely because Sony are too late. The Wii has already been released! [/trollface]

But in all seriousness, everyone sees future 360 games being 'all Kinect', or 'no Kinect'. I see some AWESOME potential for incorporating minor aspects of Kinect into controller based games. Such as simple gestures while holding the controller, or the voice commands.

Or even, for example -just thought this up- the potential for activatable 'picture-in-picture' video chat while playing multiplayer games (imagine 'Uno style', but on a shooter, and you choose who to activate it with in game, to maybe help plan your attack, and the camera will track your movement, for those who like to shuffle about while playing).

Neither, but Kinect shows more potential, because it's at least different from the Wii in core functionality, unlike Move.
