Up to this day, Braindead is BANNED in Germany (my home country). Several attempts were made to cut the movie so the censors would let it go through, there is only one version that made it. This version is 80 minutes long (original lenght 100 minutes!). So one fifth (!!) of the movie is cut.

Thank god for the EU, now we can order our movies from other countrys without the danger of them being caught in customs.
But as many here in the in the forum, i don't think it needs defending.
Meet the feebles is also great, but i couldn't finish Bad taste, it was just too boring.

you know, the biggest selling point for lord of the rings for me was "By that guy who did Deadalive."

Personally I never thought this was a bad film in any sense. I can absolutely understand why people legitimately enjoy it as a gross out horror comedy. I've seen it three times, and while I can say there are certain things about it that I do like to some degree, I'm personally not a fan of the over-the-top gore, but I admit that I do tend to have a relatively low tolerance level when it comes to gory movies (but I somehow enjoy the Re-Animator films). I can appreciate it for what it is, I understand why people like it, but I personally do not.

I got to the custard bit, and I couldn't take it anymore. I like the story of it, but the imagery was too much for me. Maybe I'll watch it later on in life.

Man, imagine if LotR and The Hobbit were this gory. No CGI, just makeup and props. It would be glorious.

Dear lord I hope this is on Netflix! If Elvis Versus Bubba hotep is on there, then this has to be!
Not streaming in my parts. I can get it on DVD which I'll do if a buddy I just EM'd doesn't already own it.

Amazon wants like $50 for it on DVD. Odd.

Maybe DVDs increase in value based on their rarity... unlike most other forms of technology.
Some do, but this would have a fairly consistent production run. Despite what was said in the video, this is a popular film.
