The Big Picture is about Movie Bob's opinions. It shouldn't come as a surprise that you won't agree with everything he says. Some people really need to understand this simple fact and get the fuck over it.

As far as i can see, he's called MOVIEbob for a reason, he should really commentate on movies and nothing else. Granted his last big picture had movies integral to it, but others such as the PC gaming one didn't

And tbh, i think the whole 'and that's the big picture' thing is really snarky and elitist. It's just a bunch of after-the-fact opinions about whatever ground his gears that week.

I really respect his movie reviews because he is genuinely well informed and we can accept it because a review is literally just a glorified opinion from someone we deem qualified enough to give, but the big picture series has done nothing but irritated me so far.

But still, it is just a show about his opinions, that is very apparent, so i move on from it eventually.

Not that I want to tear the nicely healed flesh from the old wound, but I finally decided to watch the video that started the controversy about the dying gaming PC... I have NEVER seen ANYONE with that kind of skill in invoking nerd rage. Right from the moment he mentioned gaming was an accessory he had me wanting to hit the forums ranting about how my old 386 was exclusively for games and I wouldn't have owned a computer if it wasn't for Doom, Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, Sky Roads, the entire Shareware Heaven CD... And then, watching his comments on the Uncharted movie... how I so desperately wanted to chew the ear off the nearest person with ravings like "If there isn't enough storyline to make into a movie they should leave the poor game well alone!" and "What does he mean the original details taken from the game don't matter?? If it's a movie about a game, it should be recognizable as that game! It needs to have all the appropriate details and this and that..." Have you EVER seen ANYONE that can invoke nerd rage so easily and skillfully?
Sorry man, but PC gaming IS an accessory. Take a console. What is the main purpose of a console? To play video games. The ability to watch movies, surf the net, etc on my PS3 are accessories. They are not the main focus, but they're nice to have.

A personal computer is what we use as a word processor, an internet surfer, a power point creator, etc. Games are an accessory.

I think you took his statement too personally, and you need to generalize. What he meant by "Accessory" is "Not everyone uses this item specifically FOR this purpose" (within limitations)

Everyone who owns a console, owns it to play video games (except those using it as a super computer, I know, but anyone EXCEPT NASA is using it for video games)

NOT everyone that owns a computer owns it to play videogames.

That's what it's an accessory to the system, because it is not the min purpose of the system. It might be the main purpose you GOT the system, but it's not the main purpose of the system

The PC as a system concept doesn't have a "main purpose" at all, other than to be what you desire it to be. And have the funds to make of it.
If one gets a PC for the main purpose of playing games (Am I truly alone in HATING the words "gamer" and "gaming"?) then yes: That is the "main purpose of the system".

Most of Moviebobs more controversial things e.g. the PC gaming thing can be brought down with simple logic.

Whenever he rages on anything i like (comparing Halo to fascism for example) first i

Agreed

No, you aren't alone in it. I'm beginning to grow weary of it as well. It was alright at first, but it is rather inelegant, and what it's come to represent really bothers me. Calling myself a "gamer" almost feels like calling myself a child who may have hissyfits if I lose and tries so desperately to curse like the big boys on XBL
