Here in Ireland we have Brendan Frasier and Cillian Murphy, they have been in movies such as: In Bruges, The Wind That Shakes The Barley and Breakfast On Pluto (which is an amazing movie)
I think you mean Gleeson not Fraser.
Ye I do thanks for correcting me, I feel like an idiot.

I'm Canadian and my absolute favourite Canadian film is Pontypool. This is the trailer:

It's technically a zombie movie, but it starts slow and builds the suspense in the creepiest ways (seriously, it takes a LOT to creep me out). It's based on a novel, and apparently there will be a trilogy of films (YAY, I can't wait til the next one!).

It takes a lot for me to get excited about Canadian films (some are just so stupid), but this is really deserving of all the praise it's received. Watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Oh! I forgot about that movie!

Want to see it since Spoony's review of it. He loved it, or at least liked it.

OT:

I live in the U.S., so it's not hard to find a movie from here.

Was Dod Sno Finnish? If it was, then yes. If not, who cares it has zombie nazis and boobs, done deal.

And the best Australian film I've seen in a long while has got to be Animal Kingdom, that's a cracker of a film; plus I'm a melbourne lad, so go home town! :D

I'm Australian, and I thought Harvie Krumpet was a pretty good film, even though it is technically a short (it's about the length of one tv episode). The writer/director/animator apparently made another animated film called "Mary and Max", which is a proper film length, so I need to watch that eventually.

Hard Core Logo - mockumentary that follows an old-school punk band on a "reunion tour". Worth it for the ending.

Highway 61. Road movie. Feature Jello Biafra as an American border guard.

Men With Brooms - teh funnay! and it has Leslie Nielsen, rest his funny soul.

Turks Fruit is considered to be a classic, but if you're a 'prudish American', don't watch it. All dutch films have a sex scene in one way or another.
I'm not sure what America you're talking about. All the Americans I know could actually stand to be a bit more prudish, what with all the constant drinking and sexually uninhibited parties I'm no longer allowed to attend by court order :(. What's "Turk's Fruit" about anyways? I'm always looking for a good movie to watch.
Oh, in my opinion Americans can be some wild animals, but the whole country denies that they do so.

I haven't watched Turks Fruit myself or De Lift for that matter. >_> I'm not that type of guy. (the horror OR the romantic comedy guy...)

But it's about... ehm... some guy who.... er....... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Delight_(film) Well it says that it's full of romantic and sexual adventures. It's a book by Jan Wolkers, a famous novelist in The Netherlands (but he's a bit excentric) And Paul Verhoeven made it into a film. It's full of subtlety and it may have a slow pacing.

And it has Rutger Hauer! He's awesome.
