Just interested in what people have to say. Personally, a movie that a lot of my friends, but that I hate would have to be Mars Attacks

I can think of some recent movies...

All my friends loved and recommended both Wanted and Walk Hard, but I personally thought both movies were pretty bad. Walk Hard especially, which I almost walked out of.

i am legend, hancock and anchorman. the first two are just will smith acting badly in films with pretensions of depth (especially i am legend), the last is just not funny; its not that its peurile i just don't get it.

p.s. i do like will smith and think he's a great actor, just watch ali if you don't agree, but his ego is encroaching too much on his movies to the point at which you are just watching will smith being will smith for an hour and a half. if i wanted that i would just watch 4 episodes of fresh prince for free at home.

Diary of the dead. I thought it was cheap, predictable and not in the least bit scary or interesting.

Dark Knight - While I don't hate this movie, in fact I think it is pretty good, I just did'nt get the amount of hype that surrounded it.

300. At least, it would be, but I didn't see it. Trailers exist to tell me that I won't like a film before I pay for it

I recently saw Army of Darkness, and didn't like it. I guess it can only be excused if it was made by a group of friends and 10 bucks...

Sweeny Todd. Nothing compared to the original musical in my opinion but everyone else liked it.

I'd have to say Watchmen. It was an OK movie but I am currently reading it and boy did the movie ever slip up. Started reading it a week ago so I saw the film before the book. A lot of movie felt pointless, still kinda fun to watch but without Rorschach the film wouldn't have kept my interest much.

This, though I have to admit the second time I watched it I enjoyed it more than the first. But that ain't saying much.

Shawshank Redemption

Godfather (all three to be exact)

Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Scarface

There are probably more, but that is all I can think of right now.

Ok, before you fire bullets in my direction, let me start by saying "Little Miss Sunshine" was a good movie. However, there was so much hype surrounding it, that it was a severe letdown for me. I didn't like it nearly as much as everyone else because of that.

EDIT: Oh, and also the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They were cool, but they certainly weren't great for me.

Superbad.

It is the most overrated film of all time, as far as I'm concerned. It's nothing more than an hour and a half of unfunny sex jokes, and then at the end it throws in some pathetic attempt to seem mature by talking about love between friends. It could have been a great moment, but because of the rest of the film it just seems really awkward and out of place.

The one redeeming factor was McLovin, and even he wasn't anything particularly special. The actor (whose name I forget) was, I admit, very good, but he had a very bad script to work with, which pretty much ruined the whole thing.

As far as I can tell, the writers came from the school of thought which states that the key to comedy gold is to have the characters swear with every alternate word.

Thank God it's not just me, then.
