I know everyone bemoans movie remakes and a dearth of original ideas, but I feel like some movies really could stand to have another version that could potentially be worthwhile. Are there any movies that you'd like to see a remake of?

Personally, I'd be interested to see a studio remake of Natural Born Killers based off of Quentin Tarantino's original script. The Oliver Stone version was pretty good and has a lot of fans, but so does the original screenplay that has been released in print, too. Tarantino probably wouldn't want to do it himself, but Tony Scott did a relatively faithful adaptation of True Romance in the early 90s. It's possible another director could make something more resembling a Tarantino movie than Oliver Stone did, and it might be pretty good.

But it probably will never happen, since he's most likely protective of that script now. Likewise, it would be interesting if anyone could make a really really good version of a Star Wars prequel.

The Max Payne film, because it was shit, despite the game looking as if it would translate brilliantly to film.

That was one of my first thoughts too, but I haven't seen it. The trailer looked pretty miserable, though.

I'd like to see a really artsy fartsy version of Silent Hill without a clear plot. Trying to make sense of that world was kind of the downfall of that movie, even though it wasn't horrible.

I would like to see a remake of some of the old style 80's sword & sorcery flicks. There where many of them and most of them where pretty bad. Overall I would like to see the genre come back as a whole. With the technology of today I think we can get some really good fantasy creates on the screen.
