I got the idea for this thread from the "Books to read before you die" thread.
I'd suggest:
The Godfather
Scarface
Fight Club
Pulp Fiction
Star Wars
Green Street (a great movie for pumping yourself up)
The Blair Witch Project
The Dark Knight
The Matrix
Goodfellas
Psycho
Blade Runner
Rear Window
The Thing

I've probably missed and forgot some, so feel free to contribute.
EDIT: I don't know how I forgot about this, but 12 Angry Men.

Wayne's World (1992)
Alien (1979)
Aliens (1986)
The Terminator (1984)
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
Die Hard (1988)
I Am Legend (2007)
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Jurrasic Park (1993)
The Lost World: Jurrasic Park (1997)
Lethal Weapon quadrilogy (1987,1989,1992,1998)

When you say "The Thing" do you mean the 1951 original or the 1982 remake? Cause I watched the remake for the first time in October and I freakin loved it

I mean the remake. I can't comment on the original since I've never seen it.

Yet again, both Alien and Aliens. Seriously, those two movies were badass. Also, though, the again-previously-noted 12 Angry Men, and of course Casablanca.

And possibly Pixar's WALL-E. I am still shocked by how good that movie was.

EDIT: And for the pure 'what the fuck' value, Existenz.

Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet
Apocalypse Now
Black Hawk Down
Defiance
United 93
Scott Pilgrim
Citizen Kane
Strangers On A Train

[small]Important note, when it comes to Apocalypse Now there are two versions, the original cut and the Redux version which is much, much longer (adds more time than Peter Jackson did with the extended edition of Return Of The King). The Redux version is the one that I saw, which was brilliant, though it erred a bit on the 'too long' side for me. It's important therefore to make a careful choice on which version to watch when you decide to watch it...[/small]

Meet Bill
Joe's Apartment
Vampire Hunter D
Batman (1989)
Superman (1978)
