I had such a love/hate relationship with Who Framed Roger Rabbit as a kid. I actually liked the movie quite a lot, and I still do, but there was one scene that I just couldn't handle when I was little. I think anyone who's seen the movie probably knows the scene I'm referring to.

Watching that scene today, as an older cartoon aficionado, it just seems silly... But I still get chills from the memory of how much it used to terrify me.

I guess mine was Balto.

When I watched it as a kid it hit pretty close to home because of all that crap balto went through just because he was different and the larger amount of crap he went through just to prove himself. And the one scene involveing his mother in the snow when he howled, that gets to me and I don't know why.

OT: some people above me brought up that Futurama episode with fry's dog Seymour, yeah that episode for reason does hit you hard, I mean damn!

Had one show like that.. I was never allowed to watch it as a kid, as it was on so late. I could sometimes hear the haunting theme tune coming from the living room, as I went to bed. Sometimes I could see the intro sequence that's on while the theme plays, and there was a horrible, distorted face in it, supposedly screaming in agony. I saw a few episodes as a kid, and they were quite menacing, with monsters, FBI agents, and a guy that was called Skinner.

Fast Forward ten years. And I'm laughing at David Duchovny's wooden acting, horrible monster make-up, and the embarrassingly familiar, yet so comfortable 90's hairdos and fashion. 5cm long bright red fingernails *shivers* What were women thinking?
I totally get you.. I watched the X Files last year and was amazed by how cheezy and just... bad it was.

It used to frighten the life out of me when I was little!

I used to be shit scared of Ursula from the Little Mermaid.

She's totally terrifying considering the films she's in.

The witch in Last Unicorn used toscare the shit out of me.
Oooh yeah, lots of creep there...

The animated hobbit, gollum was creepy, the orcs were creepy, the spiders were creepy, and so on and so forth. Smaug was awesome though... Sniff, I'll miss you short beard man who's name I can never remember!

The scene with the monsters on the mountain in phantom tollbooth...

Watership Down. All of it. Dear god, I should not have been exposed to those images as a four year old! DYING BLOODY RABBIT GHOST THINGS WHY?!

There was more, but I'm reliving the horrors of bigwig choking and frothing at the mouth at the moment, so I'll have to get back to you later.

Watership was truly horrific... some of the scenes of violence are still harrowing to watch as an adult, particularly the two on one rabbit fight with slow, drawn out animations of bloody wounds being inflicted on faces and necks...

...man how did my parents let me watch that shit when I was 8??
