Magnolia.
Don't get me wrong I truly love movies that have different storylines that fall into each other at one point.
I knew it was going to happen and I awaited for it patiently. But after a while it felt like the verbal diarrhea Marlon Brandon spout out in Apocalypse Now. So... tedious and boring.
Needles to say I never saw the end of Magnolia.
Nothing wrong with the movie. It just stretches my patience to its limits.

Borat.
Never before have I hated someone so much for not doing the research. A movie for douchebags. The only plus side is that I now want to visit Kazakhstan and see how it really is! (hopefully also see the Kosmodrome)

Bruno was one of the movies I barely pulled through while watching it.

I'm not homophobic, but after watching the whole thing I was asking myself: how come the producers of the film could keep some of the scenes that I've seen in it,without igniting some sparks.

Human Centipede? Really? That movie sucked and it wasn't even very gross. You want a gross movie? Watch Cannibal Holocaust: animal cruelty, castrations, decapitations, fetuses being... uh... yeah, it's pretty sick, but classic Grindhouse.

Schindler's List. Fantastic movie, but it...takes some effort to get into it and try and sit through all the depression.
When I watched the scene where he's about to flee because he used "slave labor" and he starts freaking out. Oh god... I balled my eyes out for the rest of the movie. Even watched the entire procession of survivors at his grave at the end.

Even thinking about it now makes me have that chest tightening feeling.

I just could not finish Antichrist (2008, starring Willem Dafoe). The stark portrayal of a couple grieving over their lost child. Wonderful movie but I tried to watch it 6 months after my father suddenly died. I only got half way thru. Been meaning to watch it but can never get too it.
Eh, you aren't missing much when it comes to Anti-Christ. It had a crappy ending from a director who works off of shock value. I must admit that it had beautiful cinematography though.

You need to finish Magnolia, the whole point of the movie is to throw you and think that everything will come together. It goes against the grain and the formulaic and from that, it brings truth.

Never before has a movie emotionally destroyed quite like Moon did. I've never cried during a film, until Moon.

I can't watch it again. I own it. I loved it. I look at the case every now and then, wondering to myself, "is today the day I watch it again?". I don't think that day will ever come though. I just can't.
Well, look at it this way: If you have to get emotionally fucked by a movie, at least it was an excellent movie.

For me, it was The King's Speech. It was a very well made movie, but it was just so...formulaic. All that kept me going was Colin Firth. The movie as a whole is drastically overrated, but damned if he didn't deserve that Oscar.

Scott Pilgrim, 7 minutes in I felt I was getting dumber by the second, OMFG i'll never get those 7 minutes back.
I'm sort of sorry you exist. ;)

But seriously, that's probably one of the best movies from the last decade.

The commentary is worth listening to on the movie. They explain the process well and how they defend some of their scenes.

Being John Malkovic. While I thought the film was good, and the idea of playing God interesting, I could not stand the film. I had to put on headphones for that part of Film as Art. I found none of the characters likable, with maybe the exception of John, as none of them seem anywhere sympathetic save for the guy being possessed.

The movies they force you to watch in High School French classes.
Oh god, yes. Lol and Gainsbourg were both quite difficult to get through, partly because I barely understood them, and partly because I kept falling asleep.

Grave of the Fireflies - I knew that something really bad was going to happen, and that it was probably going to happen to the kids, and I just can't stand it when bad things happen to kids. So I watched the entire thing expecting the worst, and felt dead inside afterwards.

2. Death Race - pretty much a Fallout version of Mario Kart - it took itself too seriously for an event so stupid
Watch the original Death race 2000 and you will understand that for a remake of a bad 70s movie, it was fucking terrific. You kind of have to appreciate the genre for it's own sake to understand that the movie was designed to be over the top, in a funny, satirical way. But, if that isn't your thing, I can see why you wouldn't care for it. Personally, I fucking love that movie.

I've never made it through The Godfather, my friends have tried to get me to watch it on numerous occasions and every time I just get so bored that I have to turn it off.

Begotten, I'll summarize the first opening 10 minutes or so. The movie opens with God in a shack restrained to a chair and disemboweling himself. From his corpse apparently comes Mother Earth and jerks off the dead God and gets semen all over her hand. She then uses it to impregnate herself.

for the most part, when i decide to sit down and watch a movie, i already have some idea of what its going to be like and i already know ill at least be able to sit through it. even "meh" movies.

but when my dad rents a shitty movie, which he has often done, sometimes ill try to watch them and just cant fuckin do it.

one example would be Southland Tales. AWFUL movie, which is unfortunate, because im a big Dwayne Johnson fan. that film is simply the worst thing hes ever been a part of

Twilight.

All hnngh's aside, I'm gonna be legit and say "Bambi." Seriously. I can't watch it anymore because I KNOW the sadness is coming and it ALWAYS hits.
