Have you ever seen a movie, watched through it all and thought "this is awesome!", then called up a friend who's seen it aswell, expecting a positive response and a lengthly conversation about how good the voice acting was etc, and come crashing down to earth when he says "I hated it"

Start.

There are a hell of a lot of movies that I love and no one else likes. Here are my most notable ones:

Demolition Man
Half Past Dead
Monster Man
Angel of Death
RSVP
Idle Hands

Van Helsing
Doomsday

In real life, anyway. I know a few of you like those movies, but in real life I can't find anyone to watch them with me. :/

I actually liked the Star Wars prequels.

...

Oh, and the latest Indiana Jones film was alright, I thought it was great up until the aliens.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Conversely, I didn't much care for The Princess Bride.

Have you read the novel yet? Good read if you enjoyed the movie.

Halloween 3, well all the Halloween sequels, I liked the way they brought something new to the table with each film. Up until the two reboots.

I hate everything Rob Zombie has touched though. He makes classics into utter drivel.

4th Indiana Jones (let's face it, the other 3 movies use historic artifacts to channel some god, why do people claim that using historic artifacts to channel aliens ruin the movie?)

The Spirit

Not yet, didn't know there was one. Thanks for the tip! Only one I read was Fear and Loathing. And Slaughterhouse-Five. The novel of fight club should be good as well of what I've heard.

I personally liked The Spirit. Wasn't anything like I thought it was going to be but I laughed at it.

Also I love the Ace Ventura movies (with Jim Carrey), but it seems that quite a few people don't care for them.

Rob Zombie's Halloween II. I didn't much care for the first, mainly because he tried to cram the entire original movie into the last act. But in his sequel, he did his own thing, which turned out to be uncompromisingly brutal and occasionally emotional. Plus, the end twist was very promising.

And I thank the reason people hate the movies is simply nostalgia and an unwillingness to respond to challenging visuals. People generally go to slashers because they get a kick out of seeing people die, but Zombie refused to glorify the killing and thus took away people's enjoyment of human suffering. That, and they dismiss him because he's a musician or something.

It is a bit old, so not surprising that you did not now about it. first published (in abridged form) as a serial in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (October, November 1959, as "Starship Soldier") and published hardcover in December, 1959.

I liked Transformers 2 and Spider-Man 3. They made me laugh. The star wars prequels were pretty good, good fight scenes and effects.

Actually, just say any shitty modern movie and you've got me. I don't go into a movie expecting something, so good effects is really just a bonus for me.

PS, strike Twilight from that list or I'll hunt you down and gut you like a carp.

Star Wars the Phantom menace. *Gets anti-flame fortress*

Why does everyone hate it. And just to confuse the masses, I will say that I neither love nor hate Avatar, it is okay to me.
