Crazy Stupid Love

Took "some" time out of watching that 12-day Simpsons marathon to watch this out of sheer curiosity... Despite being censored (by FX movie showcasing standards... Those "jackholes"...), I didn't think I would love this movie as much as I thought I would, despite its various subject matters that I have never dealt with personally... If I ever get a chance to watch this movie uncensored, I'm not going to squander that change by a longshot...

A Brony Tale

Outside of some questionable edits and pacing, it was a pretty good documentary in its own right... Might re-watch it again if I'm in the mood... (Plus, it was nice to recognize some familiar faces that did pop up throughout...)

...And that's about it, honestly... (outside of the last movie I saw in theaters, though, which was Guardians of the Galaxy with [some] friends...)

I watched Bring It On two days ago and it was fantastic. What a gem!

Such a highly underrated movie, in terms of just how good of a film it is!

I saw Snowpiercer just an hour ago. Amazing film. Fantastic cinematography, acting, and sets, and the story was dense as fuck (in a good way; I know I am going to be turning it over and dissecting it's themes and ideas in my head for weeks to come). They took full advantage of the train environment to create some fantastic action scenes too, which is always appreciated. CGI was a bit dodgy, but that didn't stop it from being the best film I have seen all year. :)

Frozen. Not really sure what to say about it, but I really liked it. Definitely in my top 5 Disney movies.

I finally sat down and watched American History X.

What a disturbing, cringe worthy as sh*t, heart wrenching wild ride. And then the ending came... and while hitting me harder than a falling steamroller, could not have ended better. Just a great film.

Alien. It was good, definitely enjoyed it. They do kind of do basically all the things you yell at horror movie characters not to do, though, which always annoys me a little. Definitely would recommend.
On that note.

Aliens.

It *is* that good, I still prefer Alien though.

Also, the titular Alien is hardly any other horror stalker type thing; I don't think you can really pin the 'dumb horror movie protagonist' thing on people in space that have no idea what they're up against.

Also I immediately identified with Ripley because she went back for the cat.

Yes and no. There are some things, like wandering off alone, that just aren't very bright regardless.

Heat
Never even heard of it until some months ago. Saw it and decided to buy it. Really fun, tense star battle and Al Pacino is just awesome. Great popcorn experience.

A Clockwork Orange
Bought it at the same time as Heat, but only watched it a few weeks later. Definitely a unique and disturbing experience, especially if you, like me, enjoy psychological studies of crazy people. The cinematography is excellent, of course. The topic is thought provoking and the main character is unique enough to keep you interested, even if you don't particularly care for Malcolm McDowell.

Next on my list of movies I should probably watch is The Princess Bride (already got the DVD) and Big Trouble in Little China.

A couple of months ago I saw The Godfather for the first (and only) time...
I was rather underwhelmed... I'd always heard that it was this great epic classic, and it had a promising start..
but what should have been a story about a particular character being slowly drawn in to this dark world of organized crime just played as the character going "Ok, I'm gonna be a mafia guy now."

Just yesterday I saw X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Really darn good. I was actually on the edge of my seat throughout most of it, and I can't remember the last time a movie did that, let alone an X-Men movie. Jennifer Lawrence still makes a crummy Mystique though.

Cape Fear remake with Nolte and de Niro. It's a good movie, though de Niro comes off more off-the-walls crazy than psychotic. There is also this hilarious thread about whether or not people should find the 17-year-old Juliette Lewis hot on imdb. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101540/board/nest/186284787?ref_=tt_bd_3

M.A.S.H. movie from 1970. Has no real plot but is hilarious. After this movie you'll know that suicide is painless and brings on many changes.

Wall Street with Charlie Sheen, Michael Douglas and badly acting Daryl Hannah. This movie shows its age and era perfectly, and it's much more interesting as a time capsule than an actual movie.

A Good Day to Die Hard is a movie they should've just called "Die". It's not even entertaining - even worse than the fourth piece of crap.

World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles... I actually only watched about thirty minutes because I wanted to see the alien designs. The rest of the movie can be guessed from the title. Aaron Eckhart is an awesome actor and gives a performance that this thrash certainly doesn't deserve.
