What is one movie that simply HAS to be a game.
Also, what's a game that you'd love to see as a movie. I'd love to see a Beyond Good and Evil movie, or a movie based on the Sly series.

I'd like to see an actual Metal Gear Solid movie (Yes, yes I know they already are almost movies already!)

Or a Legend of Zelda movie. I think it could be interesting!

Ummmm wow that's a thinker.
(3 minutes later)
Okay had to give it a think and ummm...
Killer Clowns From Outer Space?
Could be a fun(ny) stealth survival horror game which I guess would probably in terms of gameplay and approach kind of similar to Manhunt only with less opportunity or for that matter reason to actually want to confront enemies. Also it would just amuse me to see a game come out that fed off of peoples Clown phobia.

EDIT: As for a video game movie. One I have wanted to see done since Tomb Raider came out was a movie of Syphon Filter. Think it would be great if they kept it as close to the game as they could.
That or an RE-Reboot that actually has everything to do with the first game.

Suckerpunch . That would make a awsome horror/survival game a la Silent hill 2 . To be honest , that movie would work better as a videogame than it does a movie . In my opinion of course .

I want to see Yahtzee's 'Chzo Mythos' become a movie, or a set of movies. Even better, I would love to be the one to make it - I write, and would love to work as a film writer and director, and I would stay 100% faithful to the games while still being able to expand the story in a meaningful and respectful way. Otherwise, seeing a good writer/director team work on it would also be cool. Maybe get someone like David Fincher or Lars von Trier in, or Daron Aronofsky. Or someone with experience of creating good creepy horror, like Guillermo del Toro or James Watkins...

I'm with James Cameron, in favour of an Inception video game. There's plenty that could be done with his dreamscape stuff, and I reckon the interactive nature of video games would make them an ideal platform to realise it.

Also, if there was a decent enough way of doing it, I'd actually rather like to see a game based on the Sharpe series (preferably starring Sean Bean and Daragh O'Malley, but I'd take what I could get), although that'd actually just be a neat little framing for what I'd really like to see, which is a game that does the Napoleonic Wars well.

I'd like to see some of those Guy Ritchie type movies as games. Snatch, Lock Stock, Layer Cake, that sort of thing.

Essentially it would just end up being Mafia or GTA in the UK. I know we had The Getaway, but that was ages ago. An up to date game about British criminals would be great, preferably with large amounts of real locations and humour. Something in the vein of Rock 'n' Rolla could set the story up well enough - older established English crime organisations facing competition from the influx of immigrants and the new approaches they bring.

I dunno, I'm not a writer. Just roll all those films together an make a game out of it for God's sake! :p

I'd like an Infamous movie, A God of War one would be amazing but incredibly difficult to pull off and would require a ridiculous budget.

And an Avengers game would be awesome.

I'd like a Star Wars adventure game. I'm surprised there never has been an official one. Now that Lucasfilm was bought by Disney and Telltale had such a big success with The Walking Dead I think it would be possible that Telltale makes one.

LOL. I love that the first two posts went the other way.

For me Journey to the Center of the Earth. Not that new one with the rock though. This one:

I want the lizard people, the two villages, everything. That movie would make a pretty awesome game.

I hold the firm belief that Oblivion would have made a terrible movie... However, I think Skyrim has potential. For one thing, dragons are fucking awesome. I think if the movie went over just the main story (with small mentions or characters from the other factions) and the main character was the guy from the trailers it could turn out alright. It might be pretty badass actually. Think of all the easter eggs they could sneak in! Or one or two references to bugs. Maiq could even have a cameo

EDIT: Shit, got it backwards :/

I think Hobo with a shotgun would make a good game. In the same style as Miami Hotline maybe.

Thundercats would kick ass too. Maybe Battlefront-style, but with more RPG. Or you could just play as Lion-o. Like an old 2D Zelda game

Or a Prince of Persia trilogy. Shut up I know I know. But I didn't really like the movie. Hated it a little actually. But if they kept the story and everything, It would be pretty awesome

I would love to see The Boondock saints as a gam-oh wait.

On the 'game as a movie side' I'd love Far Cry 3 or Magic The Gathering.

I haven't played it (though I will after Christmas) but dishonoured looks like it could be a great movie. Bah Humbug to Assassin's Creed...unless it's Assassin's Creed 1 :D

"Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" could be good it would be "very" hit or miss though. Same with Skyrim but I don't think it would be as interesting and knowing the movie industry they'd adapt the crap out of all the aforementioned games.

Crap, I inverted the question :S

My past with movies to games is bad, there are very few successful games that were originally movies.

I think 12 Angry Men could make quite a cool experimental game. Nothing but massive conversation trees to try to convince your fellow jurors of a guys innocence.

Then, to balance it out with something stupid and shooty, I think the next COD game should be COD:Expendables. COD's already a big macho hoohah of iffy realism, let's just make it official and have Arnie shout ridiculous instructions at me whilst Bruce Willis sighs and Sly Stallone rambles something incomprehensibly. That'd be cool.

Edit: Ooh, another one, Jackie Chan Game, don't care which movie, but if someone could recreate all of that flashy prop fighting in a game that'd be awesome. Plus, Jackie Chan is cool, he could even sing the soundtrack.

I think that a Starship Troopers game would be pretty freaking sweet. Problem is...I'm not sure what kind of game I'd want.

A RTS is the obvious choice but I don't really think it would be that interesting. I'd think that a Squad based FPS or something like that would be pretty fun. Maybe a RTS/FPS hybrid (like what Black Ops II tried...although that didn't work very well due to the incredibly bad team AI. Make that with not-terrible team-mates and you've got a sweet game!).

The "Planet P" fort fight as you order your troops around; attempting to hold the line as millions of bugs attack. The sneakier stealth of trying to capture a brain bug. The "Kill every last mother fucker" of using the Marauders. Neil Patrick Harris!...so much potential.
