So I'm sitting in a bare apartment...
That sounds exactly like how I start threads... "So I'm blah blah blah..."

Anyways, I went to live in scotland for a while when I was little and we rented this massive house in the country, I had what was essentially the attic which had almost been completely turned into a bedroom except it was so big it had sofas and a coffee table and an en suite. I loved that room because I was 10 and it was just so HUGE I could never seem to make it seem full.

Those were the best days of my life... oh yeah... back in the summer of '69... (well, winter of 2001)....

The first time was horrible. I didn't know what was going on. I was just a little kid then.

However, the next 10+ times went from "WHAT!?" to "Wut?"

I'm still waiting for my collection (figures, models, etc) to get sent to me from my last move, but the sad part is that I'm moving again.

To me, it's like a biannual chore. Once I place down my belongings, its time to pack and move out.

Kinda surreal. When I moved away from Kent at the tender age of 11 there was a sense of "I'm gonna miss this place". More recently when I moved out with my girlfriend when I was 17 I was over-joyed. I didn't completely empty my room as it wouldn't fit in her car at the time, but I had everything boxed for when we made the trip back to pick it up.

Imagine my disappointment when I had to come back alone and unpack everything.

Still, doing it again at the end of March so I'll post back then and let you know.

Wait she dumped you?
Yeah. We were kinda foolish anyway to think we could start our lives together at that age, young love an' all that noise.

moved in an appartement together with my boyfriend on my 18th birthday (so 3 years ago) and what was more touching for me then seeing the old place bare was seeing the new place...nice and exiting feeling (before carrying up and unpacking the countless boxes that is^^)

The last few minutes in my old home are always composed of complete boredom, and I have nothing to do, everything is packed up.

Not really sentimental about the places I live, probably because the place of moving to is always better than the place I'm moving from.
Then you are lucky! ^^

I haven't moved that often, but the last house we had was very nice. Two stories and had just finished a back porche. Our nextdoor neighbors were nice and had a pool so it was quite nice... No neighbours my age where we are now though, and that sucks...

EDIT: 2000th post O_O

I'm moving out to go to college in a little over a year, so I'm excited about that, but I don't know how I'll really take it when the time comes. I hope I can be as optimistic about it as everyone else here.
